Lyrics for Bring It On Down as interpreted by Stylus

Bring It On Down Lyrics
What was that sound ringing around your brain
Today was just a blur, you've got a head like a ghost train
What was that sound ringing around your brain
You're here on your own who you gonna find to blame

You're the outcast
You're the underclass
But you don't care
Because you're living fast

You're the uninvited guest who stays 'till the end
I know you've got a problem that the devil sends
You think they're talking 'bout you but you don't know who
I'll be scraping your life from the soul of my shoe tonight

Bring it on down, bring it down for me
Your head's in a fish tank
Your body and your mind can't breathe
x2

You're the outcast
You're the underclass
But you don't care
Because you're living fast

You're the uninvited guest who stays 'till the end
You know you've got a problem that the devil sends
You think they're talking 'bout you but you don't know who
I'll be scraping your life from the soul of my shoe tonight

I'd relate the lyrics to taking too much cocaine. The last line sums it up with style. The mix of buzzin elation and paranoia. A class above 'The Streets' attempts at conveyin this, and I think The Streets are decent.

Particularly meaningless lyrics IMO, however its still very much a rock n roll song that gives you the oasis attitude/swagger.

This song doesn't really start until 2:48. From then on it's the definitive guitar/drum solo.

I only came to appreciate this song recently and because they were going to play it in the show. I must say I like it a lot right now, it's Oasis back in 1994, young and rebel, feeling outcasted and looked down on by the upper society.

THIS SONG ROCKS! Seriously, this is one of my favorite Oasis songs, along with Hello, Don't Look Back in Anger, She's Electric, Champagne Supernova, Stand By Me; I Hope, I Think, I Know; Don't Go Away, Live Forever, Slide Away, Acquiesce...
They just have so many great songs that it's hard to choose just one, isn't it?
I have no idea what this song means. But all I know is that it rocks! It seems maybe like it's about being an outcast and getting pushed around, and feeling repressed by the upper class and those in power. Hence, not being able to breathe. I don't know.

There is something about this song that gets a powerful reaction out of me every time I hear it. As far as I am concerned only a true masterpiece can do that.

"you're the outcast, you're the underclass... Bring it on down" maybe encouraging revolution?

I cant understand why you dont have an idea whats this song about cos for me it got one of the most directest lyrics of all oasis songs. its simply about the working class and an homage to it.

its about peolpe at the bottom of society like the band was at the start of their carreer. its about people looking down on you but you dont even get a shit cos you have to get along with yourself. thats it

-Bowing down to macman2511.
-From the single and the album…
-It aint meaningless.
-Cocaine… Where???
Yet maybe ¨You think they're talking 'bout you but you don't know who¨ is to do with weed… cause it leads to paranoia… but then maybe not.
-Oasis, or else Noel and Liam, are the narrative voice
¨I know (you've got a problem that the devil sends)¨
So it aint about them being looked down by the upper classes… the Gallaghers look down on the higher classes… how can noel feel outcast?
-revolution? You gotta be kidding me.
-key phrase.. ¨ You're the uninvited guest who stays 'till the end¨ it sums it all.
-offensive needless to say.
Safe journey home.

i don't think the lyrics are meaningless at all. beansch has it right, it's about the working class. very rebellious feel to this song. the album was great because oasis was "real," they weren't a bunch of art students pretending to be working class like blur were-- they sang about the things they knew about.

"What was that sound ringing around your brain
Today was just a blur, you've got a head like a ghost train
What was that sound ringing around your brain
You're here on your own who you gonna find to blame"
a description of what working class life is like.

"You're the outcast
You're the underclass"
self-explanatory. the working class it the outcast class because the upper class or the middle class do not care about them.
"But you don't care
Because you're living fast"
self-explanatory as well, they're living it up anyways and not giving a shit about anything else.

"You're the uninvited guest who stays 'till the end"
uninvited guest-- someone who is unwanted and not cared about. the upper/middle class does not care about the lower class. you in this verse = the underclass.
"I know you've got a problem that the devil sends"
again, you is the underclass of the verse. the devil sent a problem for you. the devil is the upper/middle class.

"You think they're talking 'bout you but you don't know who
I'll be scraping your life from the soul of my shoe tonight"
you think the upper/middle class are talking about taking you out and you do know who it is exactly, but you know when the fight happens (tonight) that you will be scraping their remains from the sole of your shoe. btw, should be SOLE, not soul.

"Bring it on down, bring it down for me
Your head's in a fish tank
Your body and your mind can't breathe"
a taunting verse for the upper/middle class.

"they weren't a bunch of art students pretending to be working class"
To me it seems like most people on here are. 'revolution' 'upper class' 'the devil is the upper/middle class' huh????

I appreciate the well-paid education but everyone is missing the point.
The point is, wait a few years and you'll se what they’re singing about (im kinda embarrassed to comment on this but i feel im doing a service to you kids)

The song is about the dude who is paranoid as all fuck, snorts more than anyone, drinks more than anyone and smokes more than anyone.
It's about staying up all night looking for the next hit and passing time, sitting around dodgy joints waiting for a hit, waiting to finish it off before moving on to the next thing.
(I read this comment now and see how misconstrued it will be but I don’t give a flying fuck, this tune defines my life).

It is as someone previously posted, about being an outcast, regardless of social class or wealth. This song is about personality.

BTW I have an Arts degree....

You're the outcast
You're the underclass
But you don't care
Because you're living fast

I think its about the way Oasis were back then in '94,Coming from being on the dole to being on the verge of taking over the world..Also about their large intake of drugs at the time hence the 'living fast' referance,One of my favourite Oasis tracks
