    My Interpretation:I think it's about a person in a relationship or just in general having to deal with attention deficit disorder (ADHD). They don't want to be misunderstood, and sometimes things are great, but also sometimes things are bad, and a person with ADHD never means to cause a problem but sometimes it happens. They never mean to take out their feelings on others, and they feel like they just need to be understood from their point of view, by others. People with ADHD have issues with picking up on social ques as well as interacting socially in general. Because of this, and many other issues that go along with ADHD, often people with ADHD are misunderstood by others, and this song is their plea to not be.

    General Comment:As I've gotten a little older, it has taken on an undertone of an abusive man trying to explain himself to the woman he is abusing to me. I don't know if that was intentional or if I'm just reading to much into it, but if you've been around abusive people these are the kinds of excuses they tend to give. Is it just me?
