Another tear in the sea
Another drop in the ocean
After the fall
Waiting to sink

Another tear in the sea
Another drop in the ocean
After the fall
Waiting to sink

Oh, solo mio
Oh, solo mio

It's all right now
Come closer
Talk to me

Oh, solo mio
(It's all right now
Come closer)
Oh, solo mio
(Come talk to me)

Sah fasa gan
Sah fasa gan
(2-7

Sah fasa gan
(There's a definite feeling buried down)
Sah fasa gan
(Wrecking itself
Taking you with me)
Hello, hello, hello, hello

The more they was
The more they were
The more they wander from

The more they was
The more they were
The more they wander from

Another tear in the sea
Another drop in the ocean
After the fall
Waiting to sink

There's a definite feeling buried down
Wrecking itself
Taking you with me

(Sah fasa gan)
There's a terrible reason buried down
(Sah fasa gan )
Wrecking itself
Taking you with me
(2-7
2-7
2-7)
(Sah fasa gan)
There's a definite feeling buried down
(Sah fasa gan )
Wrecking itself.
Taking you with me

(Sah fasa gan )
There's a terrible reason buried down
(Sah fasa gan )
Wrecking itself
Taking you with me
(2-7

(Sah fasa gan)
There's a definite feeling buried down
(Sah fasa gan)
Wrecking itself
Taking you with me

(Sah fasa gan)
There's a terrible reason buried down
(Sah fasa gan )
Wrecking itself
Taking you with me
(2-7

Lyric Correction:Surprised to see the lyrics in such disarray. If you listen to what he's saying it's evident. It's alright now, come closer, talk to me. Where you have "oh soli mio" he's saying "closer to me, oh..." And where you have "sah fasa gan" he's saying "so far, so good"

Anyway, this song is just incredible. So many times it's put me at ease despite the troubles of life. Another beautiful offering from the genius of Pinback.

    General Comment:Just a quick aside:

It's 'O sole mio, which is Neapolitan. The standard Italian translation is Il sole mio. Translated to english, that's just "My sun" not "Oh my sun." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…

I don't know why I posted this, but I felt it was interesting and relevant. =)

General Comment:Well, I tried to translate 'O Solo Mio, Sah Fasa Gan' on google translator, and, after going through every language there, it translated the parts to something like 'or maybe it's just my valid phase talking', or something to that effect. Anyways, that was from a compilation of like 6 different languages or something like that, so I have no clue if it is in any way part of this song, but I like to think those fit nicely in the song.

General Comment:according to an interview with National Public Radio (NPR), one of the callers actually asked a question to Rob and Zach about some of the meanings in some of their songs. They just told the caller to keep guessing. So I guess to those people who actually asked Pinback about song meaning in person, don't believe every word that was coming out of their mouth. There could be multiple meanings jammed into one song for all we know. Don't believe me? check out the NPR website npr.org/templates/story/…. They posted the entire interview and listen to the full show

General Comment:It kinda sounds to me like he's saying "So far so good" Not "Sah fasa gan"

General Comment:i've always thought that it was "there's a definitely feeling bearing down" instead of "buried down."

General Comment:"Oh solo mio" is Italian for "only me" (I keep thinking of those cartoons or TV commercials with the guys poling the boats in Venice singing "OH SO-LO MI-O... is it just me?). "Sah fasa gan" is a phrase that Zach made up.

General Comment:Call me crazy, but "sah fasa gan" sounds a lot more like "so far so good" to me. And those are actual human words.
