You belong among the wildflowers
You belong in a boat out at sea
Sail away, kill off the hours
You belong somewhere you feel free

Run away, find you a lover
Go away somewhere all bright and new
I have seen no other
Who compares with you

You belong among the wildflowers
You belong in a boat out at sea
You belong with your love on your arm
You belong somewhere you feel free

Run away, go find a lover
Run away, let your heart be your guide
You deserve the deepest of cover
You belong in that home by and by

You belong among the wildflowers
You belong somewhere close to me
Far away from your trouble and worries
You belong somewhere you feel free
You belong somewhere you feel free

Memory:I heard this song for the first time today or that it touched my soul I lost the love of my life of the last 36 years and today was our 34 wedding anniversary I was asking her for guidance and this song came on radio margarita ville

It was like if she was speaking to me through the radio ....needless to say I lost it.
Great song now on my I tunes.

General Comment:sucha beautiful song. It's about not trying to claim ownership over a person you really like and instead just enjoy the time shared with that special someone.

Does he still play this song live btw?

General Comment:2 months ago one of my close friends committed suicide. I feel like this song is what I would tell him right now if I could say anything to him - "You belong somewhere you feel free."

General Comment:I didn't know I was in love with one girl until she told me she told me she wanted this to play at her funeral. Such a great song and so true about how I felt about that girl.

General Comment:I heard, from a very trusteful source, that this was tom petty's country murdur ballad. Alot of country songs contain material that is discuised as a love song but is actually the thoughts of a man who wants to kill his wife. Thats just what I have heard, you can disagree but check it out first.

General Comment:In a way the entire album really is a themed album about moving on, waking up and realizing there's more to life then just moping around. This song and the last song on the CD go well together. This is really a well put together CD with a few songs threw in there just for fun (honeybee, Cabin Down Below.) I really like how he put "Crawling back to you." right before "Wake up time." it's like he put them togethere to make a story about himself. How he keeps wanting to crawl back to his ex-wife but then realizes it's time to wake up. The album really was made in a way for himself....and for him to get out his feelings on situations.
