I'm sitting here all by myself
Just trying to think of something to do
Trying to think of something anything
Just to keep me from thinking of you
But you know its not working out
Cause your all that's on my mind
One thought of you is all it takes
To leave the rest of the world behind
Oh

I didn't mean for this to go as far as it did
And I didn't mean to get so close
And share what we did
And I didn't mean to fall in love
But I did
And you didn't mean to love me back
But I know you did

I'm sitting here trying to convince myself
That your not the one for me
But the more I think
The less I believe and then the more
I want you here with me
You know the holidays are coming up
I don't want to spend them alone
Memories of x-mas time with you
Just kill me if I'm on my own
Oh

And I didn't mean for this to go as far as it did
And I didn't mean to get so close
And share what we did
And I didn't mean to fall in love
But I did
And you didn't mean to love me back

I know its not the smartest thing to do
We just can't seem to get it right
But what I wouldn't give to have
One more chance tonight
One more chance tonight

I'm sitting her trying to entertain
Myself with this old gutair
But with all my inspiration gone
Its not getting me very far
I look around my room and everything I see
Reminds me of you
Oh please baby won't you take my hand
We got nothing left to prove

I didn't mean for this to go as far as it did
And I didn't mean to get so close
And share what we did
And I didn't mean to fall in love but I did
And you didn't mean to love me back
But I know you did

And I didn't mean to meet you then
When we were just kids
And I didn't mean to give you chills
The way that I kiss
And I didn't mean to fall in love
But I did
And you didn't mean to love me back
But I know you did

Don't say you didn't love me back
Cause you know you did
No you didn't mean to love me back
But you did

This song is sad - the singer is expressing his feelings for someone he still loves dearly, but knows that having a relationship with that person will not work out.

"One thought of you is all it takes To leave the rest of the world behind"

I love this part, because it shows deeply he has fallen in with this girl, and she is truly the only thing that he can think about. She is his obsession, as he once was, too. She means the world to him, and once he meant the same to her, and the most painful part is that he knows this - and he knows that she doesn't feel this way anymore, even though he wishes that she did. This is shown in these lyrics as well:

"And I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did And you didn't mean to love me back But I know you did"

The title of this song is "A Lonely September." This can be taken literally, as in: it is now September, and he is this situation. However, a more metaphorical meaning I drew from it was this: In school, businesses and generally many people's lives, September is the month of beginnings, where the cycle of their life begins anew. He is back to a beginning, when he was single and didn't have his love, and it is a lonely feeling.

This song has an incredible amount of meaning to me. The title itself has vast meaning, both literal and figurative. It is September, and the person that I loved, and still love, broke up with me. A lonely month indeed - and a lonely way to begin another year at college.

The lyrics feel like they are perfect for us - because I know that she loved me once, loved me so much. I meant everything to her. I was her world. In short, I was everything that she still is to me, now.

"I'm sittin' here tryin' to convince myself that you're not the one for me but the more I think, the less I believe it and the more I want you here with me"

    One day, I'll believe it.

this song is so sad, i cryed the first time i heard it. its about breaking up, and all the different feelings that you go through when you are trying to deal with being dumped. It seems really personal to him, and that is why its so good

Man, I love this song. It's so sad and wonderful and it's perfect. The sound of it is great as well as the lyrics. These guys rock!

Only problem I have is how it's listed as "a loney spetember" on here.

This song is amazing and it just reminds me so much of my one ex (first boy I ever loved and all that blah-y nonsense). It sucks when you realize that you've fallen in love beyond your control, and then one day it just gets ripped away for whatever reason. No matter how many times you (both) try to fix things.. eventually you just have to realize it's not going to work and that moment just sucks beyond belief. I think after a while you try to think of all the possible reasons why it went wrong.. one of which being you met too early in life ("I didn't mean to meet you then, when we were just kids") and.. yeah. It's just a really great song, lyrics and musicwise.

I love this song, It reminds me of one of my ex's and stuff. I'm a punk kid but I have a dab of emo in me and this song hits it right where it feels so good but so hard at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
