i really think this is the prettiest love song ever written. you don't even have to be in love to feel exactly what she is saying. i love this song!

In my opinion, this is by far Lisa Loeb's best song...i love to listen to it right in the middle of the "So Impossible" EP from Dashboard Confessional...it fits so well...Lisa, i love you :)

This song is my absolute favorite of hers... especially the line "I want to kiss the back of your neck... the top of your spine where your hair hits... and gnaw on your fingertips and fall asleep... I'll talk you to sleep." It's just beautiful. No need to explain it. It's just right.

This song is so beautiful. I love it so much I made sure it was the first song I learned how to play on the guitar. The words are jus put togerther SoOoOo perfectly.

haha. this song, "how", and "falling in love" are my least favorite lisa loeb songs. not to say that those songs are bad, because i've yet to hear anything bad out of lisa loeb. :)

Rather, it's just about a girl who's in love with a guy.

[She can't tell me that all of the love songs have been written, 'cause she's never been in love with you before.] The 'she' here refers to a random singer/lyricist/person. The song is saying that this random 'she' cannot say all that because 'she' has never felt how it feels to be in love with THIS guy.

[I'm trying to keep cool, but everyone here likes you
I'm not the only one.] This line, I think, talks about this singer introducing the guy she loves to her friends, and she's relieved that everyone, not only she, likes him.

But yes, I love the details in this song!

I always thought "I'm trying to keep cool, but everyone here likes you, I'm not the only one" meant that she was longing for this person but they were highly desired by others as well.

I just always took the song as being about having desire and love for someone that you might never have. She wants to kiss the back of his neck and talk him to sleep but she might never be able to and she's trying to stay cool because she sees that other people feel the same way about him as she does.
