Headfirst For Halos Lyrics
Well let's go back to the middle of the day that starts it all
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling
I take the red ones to make me fly
And the blue ones help me fall
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
As the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tounge like pixie dust just think happy thoughts
-Chorus-
And we'll fly home
We'll fly home
You and I
We'll fly home

That's what I said to her, what I said to her
Think happy thoughts

yay i like the peter pan thing:) but am saddened that it seems unlikely they will play this song live as it is unfortunately not one of their better known songs and many many fools only listen to the black parade and do not check out/fully appreciate ALL their music!ahem.they are genii (plural) and i may need to be sedated in march when i finally seeeee theeeemmm!!

This song is about considering SUICIDE and the"red ones make me fly, and the blue ones help me fly" is reffering to anti-depressents and the fact that the phrase "think happy thoughts" is used through most of the song , says it all!!

Its a great song! Its so happy and upbeat sounding yet its about suicide.
Its about suicide yet against suicide note the "Think Happy Thoughts" part at the end. I guess its saying don't think about all the shit, think about the good stuff.
Well thats what I think anyway.

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE LYRICS

"Headfirst For Halos"

Yeah!

Well let's go back to the middle of the day that starts it all
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling
And now the red ones make me fly
And the blue ones help me fall
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
And as the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tongue like pixie dust just think happy thoughts

[Chorus]
And we'll fly home
We'll fly home
You and I
We'll fly home

Come on!

Well now I'm back in the middle of the day that starts it all.
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling.
And now these red ones make me fly,
And the blue ones help me fall.
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling.

[Chorus]
And we'll fly home,
You and I,
We'll fly home.

Now honestly that's what I said to her, what I said to her

Think happy thoughts [x8]
Think ha... wooo!

I love the irony of an upbeat poppy song with lyrics about contemplating suicide. This is the song that made me fall in love with this band. I never get sick of it.

I love this song!
It's so ironic, the way it's so poppy and upbeat, but it's about drugs etc. It's also v. ironic that it's mixed in with peter pan influences.
And the irony makes me love it even more! :)

Well let's go back to the middle of the day that starts it all
{Look back at the day that made them think of suicide}
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling
{Words cant describe how he feels}
I take the red ones to make me fly
{ anti depressive pills make him happy (uppers)}
And the blue ones help me fall
{ Then he takes downers (depressive pills)}
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
{then hel shoot him self}
As the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tounge like pixie dust
{Bits of him will be left and when you think of him youll be happy)
just think happy thoughts
{Gerard tells fans "This song is about suicide - don't do it."}
-Chorus-
And we'll fly home
We'll fly home
You and I
We'll fly home
{ Hes saying we'll be ok, me and you if were help each other}

That's what I said to her, what I said to her
Think happy thoughts

{He tells her not to kill her self , so he was retracing her day and saying "its not worth it"}

Thats my persoal opionon !
thanks

gerard has said himself that the song originally started off as a joke between them, until he pushed for them to make it more serious.
it is obviously anout drugs and blowing your brains offf. i think it also addresses the issues of suicide and depression with the amongst their fans and the think happy thoughts is giving them a way to cope or, think happy thoughts, plain and simple.

Ok ppl its not hard to figure out. But the song is awesome. the song is about deppression and drug addiction/abuse. The red ones are uppers (the red ones make me fly) The blue ones are downers such as xanex or valium anti anxiety pills (blue ones help me fall) and when ppl live that way it screws up your chemicals in your body and ppl seek drugs when depressed and lonely and looking to have fun. But this can lead to a mental melt down and thus here is the blowing the brains against the ceiling. and as the fragments of my skull begin to fall. this is all seem to me as something you would think when all twisted out on drugs. any one who has done these things would understand this.

This song makes me laugh, just like Dead! does XD

I love how light and floaty this song sounds, especially that it's a song about suicide and drugs. It's all like.... serious concept, but the music and singing make it seem happy.

This song is actually referring to when Gerard was younger alot of people don't know this but he was really chubby when he was younger.
That may not be much of a problem but he wound up having to be peter pan in his school play and a chubby guy wearing tights....not a pretty sight
So obviously up on stage he felt that "I'll think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling"
And it was peter pan hence the phrase "fall on your tongue like pixie dust just think happy thoughts"
And later on the chanting "think happy thoughts"
also peter pan "the red ones make me fly" and again "we'll fly home you and I"

This song is about Gerards encounter with suicide and depression.The part about the blue ones make me fall and the red ones make me fly, those are anti-depressants.If u dont get it, people ,especially people who r bi-polar, Can go into a depressed mood and thats what the red ones r for.When they go into a manic mood,when they feel very very happy and maybe a little high-like,they take the blue ones.'Think happy thoughts' is talking about think happy thought and happy things when you're about to end it all and commite suicide and not to commit suicide cause you have a purpose and people WILL miss you and care about you.

i see where people could think he is refering to peter pan. im not saying anybody is wrong but it seems like one of those double meaning things. if it werent for him saying "the red ones make me rise and the blue ones make me fall" i would think it was about peter pan but that is obviously about drugs.the part about thinking happy thoughts seems to me like he is really trying to bbattle depression. those are just my thoughts of this song...

This is my favorite song. It's uplifting in a depressing sort of way. I interpret it as Gerard and his lover being in some cold, lonely place, being chased by vampires like the concept of the album is. Gerard takes the pills described in the song, and while he's high he grasps onto the delusion that he and his lover will fly home and everything will be okay, when in reality nothing will ever be okay again. The song is like a final momentary escape to a land of happy delusions before Gerard comes back down from his high, realizes the state of things, and kills himself. Truly a beautiful song.

In my ideia this is all about emotional extremes, maniac and depressive times, that drive you mad and make you want to laugh sterically about the huge hole you have inside. This all lead to desperation and suicidal behavior.

The whole pixie dust and think happy thoughts thing is about peter pan, but comes like a metaphor, like if suicide wouldn't lead to your spiritual death, but to te death of all the things that tormented you, like a way out to somewhere where you could be inocent and careless again.
