Lyrics for Headfirst For Halos as interpreted by MooWasHere

Headfirst For Halos Lyrics
Well let's go back to the middle of the day that starts it all
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling
I take the red ones to make me fly
And the blue ones help me fall
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
As the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tounge like pixie dust just think happy thoughts
-Chorus-
And we'll fly home
We'll fly home
You and I
We'll fly home

That's what I said to her, what I said to her
Think happy thoughts

The Peter Pan theory isn't all that crazy - on Life On The Murder Scene they mention that Gerard Way was in a Peter Pan school pantomime as the lead when he was younger.

i love this song, i love the whole 'and as the fragments as my skull being to fall on your tongue like pixie dust' because the meaning of it is actually really dark and depressing but its almost disguised with happy language and a happy beat its great xD so clever

when he says "think happy thoughts" i don't think he really means it. i think he means he's sick of having everyone tell him to "look on the bright side" all the time because it never works.

and yeah, they are totally referencing peter pan here. no doubt.

I kinda agree with the Peter Pan reference because on mychemicalromance.com (God, I feel like such an obsessive wierdo now...)they have like 10 minute videos every week...last week(episode 5) Gerard talks about he played Peter Pan in a school musical so yeah...that could be it. Anyways that video is still up as of today if you want to see it

Doesnt anyone else see the Matrix reference? The red pills make the free of the Matrix and the blue pills mean they go back to their normal dull lives. Awsome intro too.

yea i think the song is about suicide and drugs cuz
when he says "i take the red ones to make me fly and the blue ones to help me fall" probably talking about uppers and downers (drugs) then when he says " And i think i'll blow my brains against the ceiling" well duh suicide... but i dont' get the part "that's wat i said to her" thing

I lOVE THIS SONG SOOOO MUCH!!!
I'm soo glad MCR made this song! It's one of my favourites on Bullets, along with most of the other songs! I'm so glad that Gerard thought that the band could pull it off, and they certainly did!!!

really this song is so vague I think you can put any raference to it and it could fit.
I know that when I wrote songs any number of things can go into and none of it has to be about something I've been through, I once wrote a song about hating on'es mother and I have the best relationship with my mom,
so what I'm trying to say I guess is that the song doesn't really have to have any connecctions with his life or something he's been through.
Donno just thought I'd point that out

It's about when you're depressed enough that you are right on that brink of suicide and how you should think about the good things in your life and not always the bad, the pills he's talking about are anti-depressants. "Think happy thoughts?" They said they wrote this for all the people out there who are just so down on themselves, that they want to end their lives and that they wanted to make people happy, hence the upbeat tempo and the "Think happy thoughts."

I think this songs means that last moment before you commit suicide, the drugs (Whether illegal or prescribed) have done all they could, when someone comes, sprinkles pixie dust on your head, and wham, you feel better, you're thining happy thoughts. When you're about to give up on life, you think about everything you have left to live for.

Meant to be a happy song, I think.

yes indeed it is meant to be a happy "don't kill" yourself song as far as i can tell and i love every crazy second of it! umm.. i read somewhere that it's about when your on that brink of suicide t=adn then you don't.. I'm seeing them in march!! i am so exited it's a little wrong, in fact.. xXx

i agree with my happy thoughts on the top of this page. it's kind of the speaker remembers the stuff people told him and that it's no solution at all just to say to someone who has problems: think happy thoughts.
ah, and i also think ranaynaywayway *funny name* really got a point there!!!
maybe a songwriter imagines to be someone or to do certain things. not to mention that mcr is, on the whole, theatric and you can't say about every song: hey... this is that special time in his life... and yeah he refers to having done this and that...

This is my fav song in the first cd, Gerard said that this was the most important song on the cd (next to Vampire's will never hurt you) because it started off as a joke but they went through with it anyways. "Think Happy Thoughts" are my all time favorite lyrics, and i write that everywhere. this song means something to me because it reminds me to 'think happy thoughts' all the time.

OK i have like read EVERY post on this one to see if anybody had written anything about how this song has a part 2 on Three Cheers i.e. I'm Not Okay... But you guys let me down. I have read something about this, but I haven't become much wiser.
HELP ME SOMEBODY. How is this in connection with I'm Not Okay?

Thanks man. And HAPPY new year.

P.S. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE MCR IN KOBENHAGEN IN APRIL.
Like seriously... It's exactly 100 days to go today. Omg, im looking so much forward to it. Doubt they're playing this one though:P

This song is about Gerard's drugs addiction and the horibble feelings you get when you are hooked.
"take the red ones to make me fly
And the blue ones help me fall
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
As the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tounge like pixie dust"

Pixie dust refers to a drug, I'm trying not to advertise them so I won't mention names, & all of the parts about flying are talking about the high you get then, finaly the parts about falling and blow my brains against the ceiling are about the rut you fall into after

i agree that this song has to do with suicide and drugs but when i think about it more i get the peter pan reference too. Whenever i think of an angel from movies when a person just dies you always see them fly from their actual body to heaven. So whenever i hear this song i imagine them committing suicide and then flying to heaven together. I'm not exactly sure but after reading some of the posts that's what i thought
