Well let's go back to the middle of the day that starts it all
I can't begin to let you know just what I'm feeling
I take the red ones to make me fly
And the blue ones help me fall
And I think I'll blow my brains against the ceiling
As the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tounge like pixie dust just think happy thoughts
-Chorus-
And we'll fly home
We'll fly home
You and I
We'll fly home

That's what I said to her, what I said to her
Think happy thoughts

My Interpretation:DEFINITELY about suicide. "Think happy thoughts and we'll fly home.." Think happy thoughts to clear your mind and not scare yourself so you can get through your suicide peacefully. Not a happy song.

General Comment:to me, the peter pan reference throughout this song is a happy memory/place/time (we'll fly home) that the singer constantly reverts back to in times of emotional distress. on the same note, he can achieve these happy thoughts whenever he wants/needs by taking his red and blue pills (be them a referrence to antidepressants or just drugs in general, it does not matter). while he is flying and falling and thinking happy thoughts, his feelings, adled by drug use, are very conflicting, hence the "and i think i'll blow my brains against the ceiling."

i think that it would be very hard to truly understand and empathize with some of their songs unless one has ever experienced the beauty and destruction a chemical romance. kind of surprised at the volume of young/naive fans out there that have no frame of reference for any of it really... but i guess music speaks to different people in different ways.

My Interpretation:about Gegards addiction and maybe fantasizing about escaping into a comic book (a refuge for him)

General Comment:OH NO! I just realised that Peter Pan thing.
I'm chubby and I remember going to school one day wearing... tights. And i thought nothing of it coz I was still young and innocent and happy... BUt then everyone started laughing at me. And I felt like killing myself - I was so embarrassed. I still have days like that but I listen to MCR and I'm happy again!
If only I knew about MCR all those years ago...

Anyway, it's like I'm telling my life story here, LMFAO.
LOOK AT ME NOW, WORLD! LOOK AT ME NOW!

Ha ha. Okay. Yeah I agree with everyone. He's saying that he killed himself but no one should ever do it. Yup. That's all. . . . . . . . . . SO LONG AND GOODMORNING!

General Comment:In my ideia this is all about emotional extremes, maniac and depressive times, that drive you mad and make you want to laugh sterically about the huge hole you have inside. This all lead to desperation and suicidal behavior.

The whole pixie dust and think happy thoughts thing is about peter pan, but comes like a metaphor, like if suicide wouldn't lead to your spiritual death, but to te death of all the things that tormented you, like a way out to somewhere where you could be inocent and careless again.

General Comment:This is my favorite song. It's uplifting in a depressing sort of way. I interpret it as Gerard and his lover being in some cold, lonely place, being chased by vampires like the concept of the album is. Gerard takes the pills described in the song, and while he's high he grasps onto the delusion that he and his lover will fly home and everything will be okay, when in reality nothing will ever be okay again. The song is like a final momentary escape to a land of happy delusions before Gerard comes back down from his high, realizes the state of things, and kills himself. Truly a beautiful song.
