My friend Blue he runs the show with hot pink purple china glow
His family trees are molded no longer grows in summer
He holds it closer lets it go Picks a fruit but keeps it whole
Can't keep the submarine Can't keep the light from fading

Grab the hate and drown it out
Grab the beat and drum it out
It's all so confusing

Ain't the same for you and me Cartoons like reality
Dogs and cats and children The deepest wound is hidden
Ain't the same for you and me Comatose commodity
The superheroes dyin' All the children cryin'

Sell more records if I'm dead Purple flowers once again
Hope it's sooner hope it's near corporate records' fiscal year

Down the river

Have a listen lend an ear
Here's a song now if you care
We can all just hum along
Words don't matter anymore
Grab the hate and drown it out
Grab the beat and drum it out
It's all so confusing

Adhesive love Adhesive

Flyin' high across the plain
Purple flowers ease the pain
Here now have a listen
Ain't the songs you're missin'
Down the river
Down the river

Stitch the womb and wet the bed
With a whisper I'll be dead
Don't let the living die yet
Grab the hate and drown it out
Grab the beat and drum it out
It's all so confusing

Adhesive love Adhesive

General Comment:It's about the death of a relationship and his futile efforts to stop it and the paind and torment the inevitability causes the protagonist.

General Comment:i think bandontherun22 nailed it

the deleos say that the making of tiny music while renting out that mansion in santa barbara was the best time of their lives, while scott was hardly ever there at that point due to his legal problems

General Comment:How come they have never performed this live? They could just do it one time at some special event that'll be televised. I don't get it

General Comment:MY ALLTIME FAVORITE STP SONG

this song you find scott weiland at an all time low
    hes heavily and addicted...
his drug busts were all over the news...
his marriage was up and down..
the media is treating him like shit
    and he relapsing constantly

this song captures all of that in one

^^ scotts response to the media shitting on him constantly... hes saying critics are already going to be negative about the album before its even given a listen which has been true i believe when critics are given a new STP album to listen to

sell more records if im dead - this is scott relating himself to kurt cobain who you all know committed suicide and became even more popular for doing so and sold more records after the news of his suicide

its all so confusing - scott doesnt know what he should do.... he feels as if everyone his against him... the media, his wife at times, and even his own band mates

STP truly is one of the greatest bands of all time

General Comment:this might just be STP's deepest song... scott pours himself out here... he was going through a shitty ass time... his marriage was dysfunctional, the media was giving him shit, and his addiction to heroin was getting worse... gotta feel for the guy there but this is a classic tune from one of the greatest bands ever this song is truly a STP gem one of their best for sure
