Lyrics for A Winter's Tale as interpreted by f_mercury

A Winter's Tale Lyrics
It's Winter-fall
Red skies are gleaming - oh -
Sea-gulls are flyin' over
Swans are floatin' by
Smoking chimney-tops
Am I dreaming...
Am I dreaming...?

The nights draw in
There's a silky moon up in the sky - yeah -
Children are fantasising
Grown-ups are standin' by
What a super feeling
Am I dreaming...
Am I dreaming...?
woh-woh-woh-woh

(dreaming)
So quiet and peaceful
Tranquil and blissful
There's a kind of magic in the air
What a truly magnificent view
A breathtaking scene
With the dreams of the world
In the palm of your hand

(dreaming)
A cosy fireside chat
A little this, a little that
Sound of merry laughter skippin' by
Gentle rain beatin' on my face
What an extraordinary place!
And the dreams of the child
Is the hope of the man

It's all so beautiful
Like a landscape painting in the sky - yeah -
Mountains are zoomin' higher - mm -
Little girls scream an' cry
My world is spinnin' and spinnin' and spinnin'
It's unbelievable
Sends me reeling
Am I dreaming...
Am I dreaming...?
Oooh - it's bliss.

This was the last song that Freddie Mercury wrote. It is credited Queen, but it was actually Freddie who wrote it. I think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever!!

it's also (i'm 99% sure) the last song that freddie recorded his vocals for, therefore meaning the last words he ever recorded for a song were "it's bliss". a beautiful song by a brilliant man. anyways, that's what i think...

No, the last vocals that Freddie recorded was for the song "Mother Love" although he didn't finish it. So it could be that this is the last song that Freddie finished. I don't know about that.

Last thing Freddie recorded the vocals for was mother love.
I don't know about other people but do you not think that the few albums by Queen (particularly Innuendo and Made in Heaven) are just beautiful in some parts. This song for example, make you appreciate life.

To write a song about the beauty of life and with such a positive outlook on life, when he was obviously so close to death and ravaged in such pain, then to haul himself into the studio to record it, is a true testament to the sort of man Freddie Mercury was.

A showman to the end.

When I listen to this, each line paints a picture in my head. It is like having a mental canvas, each line adding more brushstrokes, until the final picture is complete. I love the line "Gentle rain beating on my face," which is something that I love. I love to walk in showers. It is one song I will never tire of. I was playing songs randomly on my PC yesterday, and this came on. I was so happy to hear it.

I a big fan of hard music, but this song is simply amazing. If you know how and when it was made it's even better. Also to point out something, Wouldn't you agree that the guitar solo is unbelievable.

Very beautiful. It was the first I heard this one probably five years ago when I was about 14 and I've loved it since then although it's hard not to cry when listening to it.
When Freddie wrote this song he was dying from aids. But he sounds so peaceful. He seems to find so much beautiful things in this world despite he must have been in such a terrible pain. In another track on Made in Heaven, Mother Love, he sounds much more bitter.

I know I have posted for this song a gazillion times, but I had to say I agree with what Miss Anie wrote. You can see something in his heart that wasn't there before. Something incredibly beautiful.

There's so much peace coming from this music... Everytime I'm nervous, I just listen to this music 2 or 3 times and close my eyes to see those "landscapes painted in the sky" and my heart just starts beating slowly... It's a bliss!

this song is a joy to hear...so full of life and the wonder of being alive...

"My world is spinnin' and spinnin' and spinnin'
It's unbelievable...
Sends me reeling..."

Rest in Peace Freddie!
You are missed!

Gosh, bless him.
He was terribly ill when he wrote this song, and he recorded the vocals two weeks before he died (so I believe).

Despite that, it remains one of his most beautiful pieces of music. Brings tears to my eyes (and trust me - I'm not one to cry over songs), the sheer perfection of it.

Freddie Mercury was truly an incredible person.
R.I.P.
