Lyrics for The Stone as interpreted by Demau Senae

The Stone Lyrics
I've this creeping
Suspicion that things are not as they seem
Reassure me
Why do I feel as if I'm in too deep

Oh, I've been praying
For some way to show them I'm not what they see
Yes I have done wrong
But what I did I thought needed be done
I swear

Unholy day
If I leave now I might get away
This weighs on me
As heavy as stone and as blue as I go

I was just wondering if you'd come along
To hold up my head when my head won't hold on
I'll do the same if the same's what you want
If not I'll go
I will go alone

I'm a long way
From that fool's mistake and now forever pay
No, run, I will run and I'll be okay

I was just wondering if you'd come along
To hold up my head when my head won't hold on
I'll do the same if the same's what you want
But if not I'll go
I will go alone

I need so
To stay in your arms see you smile hold you close
And it weighs on me
As heavy as stone and a bone chilling cold

I was just wondering if you'd come along
Tell me you will

Someone is trying to cover something up - something they did that appears to have been wrong, but was actually done to prevent something worse from happening. "They" don't see the true motivation for the action, "they" only see the obvious and immediate action (that, again, was done to prevent something worse from happening). This person can't reveal the action that he / she is trying to prevent, because it would cause the worse action to happen. The fool's mistake is something that the person did that led up to the action taking place, not the action itself. The "fool" is the person speaking of himself / herself for doing the something that led up to the action. "I was just wondering if you'd come along" and "if not I'll go alone" is the person desperately hoping and praying that someone may see the person as they truly are - not intending to do wrong, but intending to ultimately do right.

I take this as Judas after the crucifixion. Dave does seem to have a bit of an obsession with spirituality and religion in his songs, so, knowing the song writer, it fits.

Just look at the lyrics. It screams that someone is arguing with himself, about how he did not mean to do evil: "But what I did I thought needed be done". Judas is regretting turning Jesus in, "praying," for a way to show everyone he isn't the evil, messed up, corrupted man, we all know him as today.

Man. The thing about a Dave song, is you always seem to find the lyrics, years later, at a time when they will mean everything to you. I should not be doing this at work, because I just about lost my senses.

There's someone I wish I could play this for right now. I bet she can hear it somehow.

Take care everybody.

This song is about the death of his sister. She was killed by her husband who committed a homicide-suicide. This song is about what he (the husband) went through.
