I think it's "Then, a rock was formed when we held hands". Even though to Bobby it was primarily about remembering his brother Harold fondly, to me it has many Christian themes in it, about thankgiving, turning one's life around from sadness to joy, learning the truth, being comforted, experiencing grace, and similar references. This was the song that first turned me on to Soul music. I was in the sixth grade. The big Motown hits followed soon afterwards, but to me, it seemed like Sunny was just before that.

Take me to your favorite spot, and show me that you have never been watched. By the hawk that hunts the walking. By the wind that takes the talking. By the sky that sees you coming each and every day.
Take me to your favorite spot, and show me that you have never been watched. By the hawk that hunts the walking. By the wind that takes the talking. By the sky that sees you coming each and every day.
Leave me in the black backyard, and show me all your favorite stars. It's the sun that chases after all the wind, and wings and feathers, and the sky that sees you coming each and every day.
Leave me in the black backyard, and show me all your favorite stars. It's the sun that chases after all the wind, and wings and feathers, and the sky that sees you coming each and every day.
In the night, the sun is far away. Black and grey, grey and blue. In the night, forest shelter me. Pray the night will see me through.
On the wings of black skies, through the wind. To a wall of dark nights, and back again.

Lead by my sight all through the night, see why my eyes point to the sky. It's the hawk that hunts the walking, the wind that takes the talking, and the sky that sees you coming each and every day.

I always loved this song, but it also makes me sad, because I still think of him.

Well, I didn't really remember when the tune slipping through in my ears, but I loved it at once.

So, this is the song I fully put my heart & soul to master on a guitar - with "If" .

A play that I felt so complete because the way it played is never been easy - but you can do it while singing.

Many of the chords are so uncommon, because the key are partial with the bass keeps changing so often.

But you know, in order to play it, I must love it first so I can put "my all" to learn it.
And... there was a time when I was waiting for someone with the same name.
It never happens.
It's been awhile, and I haven't played on a guitar so years...
Until just now.
I feel touched & inspired reading all your comment, folks.
Those were the days, yea.
It's weird, but I always have this feeling of youth. Just weird but it is what it is.
I think this song is a love letter to a woman who enlightened him and they saved each others' futures in a mutual exchange of love & trust, not money. Many of the songs He wrote are about this person, she's always in his heart, and she knows he'll do anything for her including coming back from the otherside of the apocalypse. Death is only the Beginning, not The End.

I take the meaning of this song in two ways:
I take the meaning of this song in two ways:
One) It is based on a relationship that could have been, or was, beautiful. "We were a painting you could never frame" explains that well. It also shows the act of betrayal through, "Every lover's got a little dagger in their hand"

Two) With a few nods to the Covid-19 Pandemic in the album, "So Much (For) Stardust," I think of "The Apocalypse" as Covid, and "Sending my love from the other side" represents how we could not interact and had to quarantine.
I hope I'm not late to the party, but I heard this song again after years, and while the contrary interpretations make sense, here are a few keywords I picked out to elaborate on my own. In the ending bridge:

"I wanna love you But something's pulling me away from you Jesus is my virtue And Judas is the demon I cling to I cling to"
"I wanna love you But something's pulling me away from you Jesus is my virtue And Judas is the demon I cling to I cling to"
It could represent a theory between two lovers, one who betrayed the other and now regrets it, while the other contemplates betraying in return because they have been hurt by Judas. The line "something's pulling me away" suggests a conflict, where despite knowing Jesus is the healthier choice, the intoxication and allure of Judas is what they desire, even though they are well aware it brings no fulfillment. I could be completely wrong, but this part seems to reveal the realization that she's pulling away from someone better.
I like this song even the beat yhoo gys ❤️❤️

We covered it in my band for many years I loved the song because it was a challenge to play because of all the different chord and tempo changes. I always thought the boy went to Memphis and fell in love with a drag Queen and I still think that.
