My question for all you idiots out there who actually categorize music: What is punk? What is POP? What is anything but stupid names that you, thank god not I, place on the same thing, to make it your own. Music, is music. Let it be, and let anyone who hears,listens, or writes it alone. To all of you who don't know how to get the Hidden track on the cd to work: place it into the cd/rom drive of your computer and with it, comes a video option for "Complicated" and several other sections to choose from. Apparently, you click on the "projector" section and it will play. It is mutli media, and if you need help in this area, email me, or IM me at my email address or screenname which will appear at the end of this post. This song is basically something that makes me smile. I like the genuine lyrics and her force as an artist to make her opinion heard. She doesn't care what any of you people think, and it amazes me that people like you all realize that, and still try to criticise her and tear her down. Alright, time for my comment: And for the record, I don't care what any of you think, so it is pointless to try to insult me, if my opinion doesn't appease you. You may, if you wish,TRY to insult me, but as aforementioned in the above few sentences; I don't care. Avril is a hero to me, only because she is comfortable with herself. Seriously, if everyone in the world were comfortable with themselves, there wouldn't be any racism, or hatred of any kind. People need to be themselves and just let others do the same. Avril says that by dressing how she pleases, saying,honestly what she feels, thinks and believes, and by being herself. I don't understand why it is so important for any of you, or I to cast judgement on anyone else because you want to fit them in a group. How would you like to be categorized? You may all believe you are "individuals" but I garauntee you, only certain few are. Avril happens to be one of those few and I hope she proves all of you people wrong by never changing her style, and sticking to what she knows. "To categorize, is to conform." All of her songs, have inspired me, as a fellow artist, and individual, to break the chains that may bind me to hold my tongue when I should speak my mind. I love the song, and how they were able to mix in the low sounds of mark and the higher sounds of tom into the song. This brings a bit of conflict into the song, as does the video. When Mark is singing the slower,lower part, the video is calm, but when Tom brings in his part, the video shakes violently, and the wind begins to blow hard. While the screenplay and casting was awesome, I think the music is one of the more substantial parts to this movie. This song just is flat out good. I think the video is great, but the video graphics and computerized scenery takes away from the meaning of the point of the song. I find myself watching the whales flying around more than actually listening to the song. It is an awesome song to listen to on the radio or on cd though where you have no distractions.
