System of a Down – Spiders Lyrics 22 years ago
This is probably a song that is telling us that we are too open. Open to manipulation and control, hence the line "your lives are open wide". Now, apply every you, them, and your to mean the general population.
"All the life running through her hair" is probably referring to the spider's hairs(spiders can be hairy mofos).
Let me break it down:

Spiders-- the spiders itself is a metaphor for those that are doing the controlling, or ideas from those that are doing the controlling, i.e. propaganda

The piercing radiant moon--- Not sure what this could mean

The storming of poor June---not sure either, but, as stated above, june is the month when students get off from school

Approaching guiding light--- key term "guiding"

Our shallow years in fright---children are more easily manipulated and influenced. This is probably referring to the young kids

Dreams are made winding through my head---this person still has free will of though, for now

Before you know, Awake---Means before you know it, this person will have stopped dreaming, or thinking on his/her own

Your lives are open wide---obvious
The V-chip gives them sight--- the V-chip gives the children a controlled sight, something set by guidelines and all that bull

All the life running through her hair---the life probably means free will of thought and creativity running thorugh the "spiders" body hair.

The spiders all in tune---

The evening of the moon---The moon is going to set, meaning this person will awaken from free will, just like a person will awaken in the morning

Before you know I will be waiting all awake-- all awake=some type of small brainwashing of ideas

Dreams are made winding through her hair--Notice how this time this line is changed from "my head" to "her hair"? This mean that the "spider" is inside this persons brain.

System of a Down – The Metro (Berlin cover) Lyrics 22 years ago
This is an obvious, but an amazingly intense, song. It is obviously from the point of view of a woman who's lover was a soldier in some war. "I'll love you always"....Hmm? Doesn't this sound like something a soldier would say to his significant other when he is dying on a battlefield? It seems to me like something a soldier would say to another soldier to tell to his wife. "I was hoping you would change your mind" seems like the wife was trying to convince him not to go to the war.

Or perhaps these are flashbacks while riding on the metro that the wife has of her husband joiningto go into war. Seems obvious enough. Oh, and to nant, there are curse words in lyrics, I dont see why curses can't be implememnted into posts...

System of a Down – Needles Lyrics 22 years ago
I have solved the "needle in my hand" part.

I think this part, which is sung mostly by the guitarist, is from the point of view of a person. The rest of the song is from the POV of the planet, or environment. The person in the room bit tells you that the human race is only hurting itself. The tapeworm thing is a metaphor for something that feeds off of you slowly, only hurting you. So you see, the part that Daron sings is from the point of view of the tapeworm. The tapeworm's room is the intestinal tract, and he is waiting for the tomb of his host that he is slowly killing. so Tapeworm=man, main POV in song=environment. The needles are to represent the tapeworm sucking the life right outta the person.

This is obviously a song aimed at abused spouses or girlfriends. But it can be applied to many things, really.

System of a Down – Forest Lyrics 22 years ago
The meaning is obvious, but hard to explain. I think it is about man's destructive capabilities and man's ability to create technology. I think the whole thing about turning the forest into wine and sand is that the wine part is turning the forest into something that man can use. Then man turns it into sand, a desert, which is bare and useless. The forest of denial bit is perhaps man being in denial that he is so destructive, to anything and everything, especially nature. I think the song is being sung from the human's perspective, and the "you" is the mind.

The product of it all is destruction. "You", the mind, made the weapons(probably not just weapons like in guns and knives, basically anything destructive:trucks, pollution, bulldozers, chainsaws, etc) for "us", the humans, causing destruction.

We took the legend for its fall, meaning we didn't see it until it finally happened:" Just look at us now!".

Bam. I think I solved it. Regardless, nice song.

Meshuggah – New Millenium Cyanide Christ Lyrics 22 years ago
Not only does this band have intense guitar work, but the rhythm is somthing else. They actually change their time in songs, sometimes the guitars going at a different time than the drums. its just crazy shit. These guys are geniuses.

Meshuggah – The Mouth Licking What You've Bled Lyrics 22 years ago
intense. Somehow, I see this whole album as being a concept album. A concept album on what? Im not sure. Maybe its about the human brain(Because of the albums title, chaosphere). Humans cause alot of chaos on their environment.

why in the hell was this band not featured on this website before i put it up here? Shame on you people!seriously though, I dont have the time, so please contribute more lyrics. This band defintely needs more recognition. Anyways, you could see this song for what it sounds like(a human replacing his body parts with those of a machine in order to be the savior for this generation, sort of using things that are of this era, such as replacing the crown of thorns with blades and the like as tools of causing pain), but I see it as a song against religion. It suggests that biblical figures and anything related to religion plant ideas into peoples heads, kinda like brain washing. Cult leaders do the same thing. Most sensible people know that cults are absurd. Shouldn't organized religion be viewed the same way? I think so. At least thats my view on this song.

I read the translation, and I think its probably saying how ridiculous Hitlers plans were. How can you have a recipe without eggs? it doesnt work. Well, give me credit here I thought of this while I was stoned.

no shit asshole. But what I dont know is if this is about a true life event that happened, or just about something that well... I dont know. At first when I heard the song without looking at the lyrics I thought it was about a jewish person boarding the trains on their way to be murdered in the Nazi days. But guess not...

Actually, I think this song is about CONTROL, which includes surveillance as part of a neat little package. I believe I read something like this in the SOAD self titled booklet that said this song was for those who control the world and our nervous systems or something like that.

Tool – Undertow Lyrics 22 years ago
Here is what i think of the song. I will just summarize it:

Title: Addiction(its the undertow that pulls you down)

verse 1:This addiction has been getting worse and I am sinking in deeper.

verse 2:As bad as it may be, it makes me feel good.

verse 3:I cant escape your grasp, cause im addicted, no matter how hard I try to shut you up.

verse 4:I has sunk into the lowest of the low of drug addiction, and paradoxically it feels good as well as bad, but it is too late to turn back.

I know I might have the verse numbers wrong but i rushed through that part

Tool – Opiate Lyrics 22 years ago
This song details the shenanigans that go on in religion. Like the oh so true phrase goes: "Religion is the opiate for the masses" this song basically builds upon that. Its told through the point of view of a preacher or reverend, who preaches all of the lies that are told in the Christian religion. Its like sheep blindly following something thats not there, since God "speaks" thorugh the preacher to the religion's followers. Its an amazing song that shares my views on Religion and things of that nature.

Deftones – Passenger Lyrics 22 years ago
I have heard many opinions as to the meaning of this song, such as giving fellatio while driving or being physically disfigured and being in the back seat on a ride, but I have a different opinion. I think it is about entrusting your life blindly into someone else's hands. Its like comparing it to a car ride where you dont know where you are going.

Tool – Jerk-Off Lyrics 22 years ago
Its pretty obvious as to the meaning of this great song: Being pissed off at someone so much that you want to beat the shit out of them. Knowing Maynard, theres probably a deeper meaning to this that i don't know about. Great song nonetheless.
