When this song first came out, I will admit - I wasnt terribly hot about it. But as time has marched on, every time I hear this song, I crank it up!! The beat, the vocals and the instrumentals really jive nicely.
I personally interpret this song as a person who, metaphorically, is stuck in one place. It can be in their home town, in a relationship, job... spiritual spot...WHATEVER it may be. Now they are realizing there is so much more than what they were used to. They might long to get away and go beyond but may or may not ever.
Anyways, love the song now that Im a little older (34) from when it first came out. Seems to have more meaning now I have more (life) experience. |

Im sorry, but every time I hear this song I feel like Im tripping out on acid and hallucinating. Im not saying its a bad song!! But it delves deep into my imagination and gets my mind going.
I bet thousands of recovering drug addicts around the world have just fallen off the wagon after hearing this song....LOL. Probably reminds them of their biggest trip. ha!
So, yeah, thats how I 'feel' about the song, but I interpret it as revisiting your childhood and letting go, and growing up. The first time I heard it thats what I thought it was about. |

Ok first off I totally adore Brandon Flowers and The Killers. I cannot say I dislike any of their tracks off any of their albums!
When I first heard this song, I wasnt hot on it right away, but after listening to it and interpretating it, I LOVE it. I think we can all relate in some aspect.

I cant say "Meant To Live" by Switchfoot has made me do anything but I listen to it all of the time, especially when Im feeling down. I want to say that it encourages me to always strive to be better. For example, I took a 4 year break from college. I just got sick of it and didnt think it mattered if I had a degree or not. One day while listening to this song it occurred to me after hearing the lyrics that I was meant to live for so much more.... 2 weeks ago I went back and signed back up for classes. I will have my degree July 2007 :-) |

This song makes me think of my Mother. She has dementia and I feel really bad some days thinking of the past, and how I should've done more things for her and told her how much I loved her when I had the chance. Plus, one day I was driving my mom around with my coldplay CD in the player, and she said she cries when she hears "in my place". Whenever I hear Trouble or In my place, I always think of my Mom. |

I dont know what you people are talking about the video where pink was acting like a mainstream artist (i.e. mariah carey, etc.) or being a "wigger". By the way, that word was like so 1992. Anyways! I think the video is creative and original, and I dont care what you think.
