The Beatles – Hello, Goodbye Lyrics
|
THis is the most spontaneous multimillion dollar song of ALL TIME, based on...
Paul was showing,....Allen Klien I believe, HOW TO WRITE A SONG, and Paul said to say the opposite of what he said, (hello, goodbye, yes no) and then after an hour or so, Paul had this tune, and it became a huge hit with the trademark unforgettable McCartney melody ending (Hey Jude). This song was used as a promotional tool for Air Canada in the early 90's, and along with (getting better, with a little help from my friends, Lovely Rita) are the most commercial beatles songs. |

The Beatles – Get Back Lyrics
|
This song is about Paul's little stab at Foreigners and their insane immigration patterns, he was pissed, but made a funny song out of it,
How someone can say this is a bad one, I dont know,
This is a great song by paul, some lyrics by george and john too |

The Beatles – Because Lyrics
|
To me, this is John's masterpiece in the beatles, a contribution he made that I think made their music very mature, because this does not compare with their other stuff, well... some things.. but this song is a complete chill down the spine and was executed perfectly,
if u are ever scared, do NOT listen to this song. |

The Beatles – And Your Bird Can Sing Lyrics
| 19 years ago

I personally think because he was kind of replicating his own composition from a year bbefore. "Nowhere Man",
Listen to the anthology 2 version to see what I mean.
The guitar is john and george's exceptional work for sure |

The Beatles – And Your Bird Can Sing Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
This song is John addressing Mick Jagger's overconfidence and appraisal of his then current woman, Marianne Faithfull, She is the "bird" because like in "Blackbird" girls are referred to as birds!
THERE YA GO YA BEATLEMANIACS!
The truth,
John hated the song actually, it amounted to nothing as he said, and was a real joke. |

Elton John – Border Song Lyrics
|
To me, this is the OBVIOUS black movement idea going on here, Taupin (Elton's Lyricist) was making a stab at the racisit people by just writing in the view of a black person, it's FAR TOO EVIDENT, I cannot believe these people didn't see it. I mean BOrder, hint hint-foreigners?? It is also in the form of a gospel song, well not form but it has that feeling, it's great, one of my fave's. Cheers |

Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics

Phil Ochs did, but tupac contributed some words to it.
I like Phil's verison anyways, his coice compliments the feeling of the song and the meaning , its abit softer and to me, Tupac was a bit too agressive for it. Anyways if u havent heard Phils version u should try it! |

The Beatles – Birthday Lyrics
|
beautifully written, mostly by Paul (brains of beatles) and then torched by John who made fun of all of Pauls work simply inspite of jealousy. John was great too, I am just more of a paul fan,. BUt Pauls main inspiriation for writing songs as was johns was practically competing against the other!@ |

Jeff Buckley – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics
| 20 years ago
|
CORRECT! ALL LYRICS ARE FROM COHEN, Buckley did the arranging and stuff. Now the meaning? WEll YES IT HAS A RELIGIOUS CONNOTATION and COhen is a welll eduacted man of the bible and he is jewish but knows the ways of chrisitans quite well. The first 2 verses are of the sotry of David, Sampson, And Solomon and someone else, then Cohen goes on from his own experience,
Someone should put Cohens other two or 3 verses in here. |

Jeff Buckley – Corpus Christi Carol Lyrics

To really find out what this means, search for it's interpretation under Benjamin Britten on yahoo. I cant remember what it was but it dates back over A LONG time ago perhaps 600 or 800 years ago. I think it just about the story of a man in the mind of christ and makes several religious parallels to him in his lifetime. I dunno what im talkin about |

Pearl Jam – Given to Fly Lyrics

this maybe wrong but I first thought this was about Eddie's inspiration for Neil Young and is a reply to his song "Expecting to Fly" I saW it as Eddie was explaining that the people who for years accused Neil Young of putting down Southern ppl were wrong and Neil Young emerged a hero , they tried to ruin his reputation but never, he flew like he said he was "Expected to Fly" |

Simon and Garfunkel – The Boxer Lyrics
|
Actually this song came to Paul as he was on a plane and looking through the bible and saw "workman's wages" and he immediatly started writing and was in a time of depression at the time. Its ALL ABOUT PAUL!!! AS a young man in England, and New York, the boxer is a metaphor for his perserverance.! READ THE WORDS AGAIN.
And I think Paul Simon has litttle over Bob Dylan. He's a bit more direct and doesnt stray the meaning for no reason like Dylan does with Mr Tambourine Man or something. He wont even say waht its about!
REspect for Dylan though, still one of the best, but I personally think Paul is better. |

Simon and Garfunkel – Mrs. Robinson Lyrics
| 20 years ago
|
Talac is right,
LISTEN TO ME PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song is about a woman with a problem and is in an institution,. IT HAD NOTING TO DO WITH THE MOVIE THE GRADUTE , only that it appeared in it. It was written in 66' and Paul was asked if it could be used in The Graduate he redid it and said sure. THATS ALL!!! Listen to it!!!
Also, from Pauls MOUTH-- "Joe Dimaggio? Well I put that there because since she is a bit crazy I thought why not have her blurt out something COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to anything."
K FOLKS!!! And it makes sense because the line after that is
"What's that ya say Mrs. Robinson, joltin Joe has left and gone away! HEY HEY HEY!! HEY HEY HEY!
ALSo, Paul was not trying to mimic Lennon in I am the Walrus! He is too original for that like someone pointed out!.
THANK YOU! NO MORE COMMENTS HERE PLEASEE!!!!! |

Simon and Garfunkel – The Sound of Silence Lyrics
| 20 years ago
|
I read actually that Paul wrote it right after he heard that Kennedy was assasinated and used that as his inspiration. You can go ahead from there. The darkness he refers to is actually the darkness he played in while developing his guitar skills as a young teen in his bathroom(This is completely true trust me) so he went back there to compose this song because it was composed before he went to england in 62-63ish. Thats all Im saying for now but WILL BE BACK |

The Goo Goo Dolls – All Eyes On Me Lyrics

even just goin by the title, and the words, this song represents to me some teenagers lives adn especially in high school, with the line "all eyes on me" i think if a teen tries something different then the rest of their peers (school mates especially) tend to look at the differently and may antagonize them and put them down and burn u.Every line relates to a teens life when it's in a hole. It means if u take chances as a teen there may be consequences. lovely song indeed, my fav off dizzy up the girl |

Big Wreck – That Song Lyrics
|
I read in a music mag that Ian said that this song is just what the opening line says, he says that "its about when u hear a song and say OH fuck yeh this song reminds me of ?? so and so...etc.. and so he wrote a song about it. basically it's about how some songs give u nestalgia.. (probably bad spelling) anyways, yeh, but a great serious and enjoyable tune. |
