No Use For A Name – Pride Lyrics 22 years ago
this song makes me think of anti-flag. although the message seems a bit extreme (to possess no pride for your heritage), it can be taken on a more moderate scale to be an excellent point. our pride turns into egoism and ruins the best of us. applied to current affairs it makes an interesting point, where we are now at a high-time for american pride. to what extent does the american flag represent peace and democracy rather than military superiority and dominance over the weak?

The Impossibles – Simon Lyrics 22 years ago
i think its genious the way the impossibles equate this state that the kid is in to a ballpoint pen tattoo on the skin stretched across his bones. this is the kind of picture that lets you really visualize the lonely nature of this kid, that he just sits and draws on himself while daydreaming in class

Rancid – Journey To The End Of The East Bay Lyrics 22 years ago
this song seems to be more about closure rather than the greatness of operation ivy. tim reflects about his previous band and asks himself what went wrong with such a great thing. he doesnt glorify operation ivy so much as he describes the foolishness of the group of kids that tried to take on the world. their mixed feelings of ambition and exhaustion as their fans became more and more demanding were part of what drove the band apart. tim seems to look back his earlier days with mixed emotions and realize the lessons to be learned

Rancid – As Wicked Lyrics 22 years ago
amazing song. dont ignore the "other half". there are people out there who suffer and seek help, but people prefer to ignore such problems. allowing yourself to be aware of those less privileged can be rewarding.

Radiohead – Karma Police Lyrics 22 years ago
it seems to me like the song is intentionally self-defeating in order to exaggerate the criticisms people make of others to the extent that they seem ridiculous. the first stanza demonstrates complaints that people have in reference to others. the second stanza then demonstrates how people are unwilling to accept blame for their own actions. it seems to suggest that despite his actions, society holds him down. then, at the end of the song he realizes how easy it is for a person to get caught up in himself and realizes that he has been wrong in criticizing others so harshly.
