The beginning sort of implies something about society. "You must protect her...but that will be expensive." obviously a mother will always want to protect a child, but even society and the media tries to make money off of that. We are all targets in some sense, which may be different for eveyone. Could also imply that at birth we are taken away from who we truly are, and shaped by society. hence the kidnapping. just some random abstract thoughts...lol |

how does the title "the longer i lay here" NOT refer to masturbation? im not saying it does for sure, but im saying that it most definitely CAN if you put some thought into it. That's a really good thought...i never saw it that way. Interesting, but i'm not sure that i agree...although i don't disagree either. Many bands refer to stars in their music. I think the line "when i look up you're the brightest star." connects easily with the line "i'll never wish on another star again". She is not the brightest star because she is dead, but rather because she is his biggest wish. Just a thought... |

This song is obviously about people contemplating suicide...When i saw good charlotte live they talked for a bit before this song about how if youre depressed, get help, and how good charlotte loves us even if we feel like nobody else does. lol It was really nice to hear, depressed or not. mad respect goes out to GC just for that. |
