Donavon Frankenreiter – Call Me Papa Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this is a great song about the love a father has for his baby. i like the line "don't forget that your mamas my baby, too" |

Garth Brooks – Standing Outside The Fire Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i've loved this song for a long time, but this weekend it really took meaning to me. i took a risk this weekend that landed me in the hospital. i have to say, it wasn't the smartest thing i've ever done. but hell, if i didn't try it, i would've lived the rest of my life knowing i didn't take the risk. those who chace the sorrow and the shame take a riske of making fools of themselves, but to me, you can't make choices based on what others will think of you. you have to take chances in order to be who you want to be. you can look at this song along the lines of love, being something you've always dreamt of being, taking a risk, or just plain being who you want to be and nothing else. you can't live life to the fullest if you don't take any chances. it's like the man says: life is not tried it is merely survived if you're standing outside the fire |
Garth Brooks – Unanswered Prayers Lyrics | 20 years ago |
this girl and i have had an on again off again relationship since we've been apart for about a year now. part of me wants to still love her but at the same time, i know that if i give it time things will get better. garth brooks, even though this isn't your best song by a long shot, you still manage to definitely get the job done. have a drink on me garth |
Garth Brooks – American Honky-Tonk Bar Association Lyrics | 20 years ago |
yeehaw is right comet. i may still be "underage," but i've been a proud member of the AHBA since i was a kid. just as a side note, my favorite verse is all of the second: When uncle sam dips in your pocket. . . Where i come from, we don't need welfare lines, we replace them with hard work and not being a bunch of crying pussies. busch beer for life |

Dave Matthews Band – Proudest Monkey Lyrics | 20 years ago |
first off, fatbob 158, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about; there are numerous (as you put it) "half human monkees/apes," you just are uninformed of their existence. secondly, i agree with everyone on the fact that this song rocks. one idea i'd like to throw out is this: Oh things were quiet then In a way they were the better days But now I am the proudest monkey you've ever seen i love these lines. on the one hand you love what your past has been and all the joy it has brought you ("In a way they were better days"). yet at the same time, you know that you have a future that hangs on the accomplishments you have made even though taken the new path may lead to a different outcome than originally planned ("Then comes the day, Staring at myself I turn to question me"). glorious song, definitely one of my favorites |
Bob Dylan – 4th Time Around Lyrics | 20 years ago |
that would make so much sense. the first time i listened to this song i thought to myself "this has the same vibe as norwegian wood." well that's good stuff, thanks turtle soup |

Bob Dylan – Don't Think Twice, It's All Right Lyrics | 20 years ago |
So long, honey, babe Where I'm bound, I can't tell Goodbye's too good a word, babe So I'll just say fare thee well I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind You coulda done better but I don't mind You just kinda wasted my precious time But don't think twice, it's all right this is one of the greatest verses ever written--there's so much meaning in this last part of the song. "you coulda done better but i don't mind, you just kinda wasted my precious time." those are some intense words right there. dylan rules |
Led Zeppelin – Bron-Y-Aur Stomp Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i'm sure i'll get slammed by some people for this next comment but, 'stairway' isn't all it's cracked up to be. anywho, this song is insane. i always considered it to be about a girl, but the explanations by ramthar make a lot of sense. it definitely is one of the best songs to blast just to put a smile on your face |
Dave Matthews Band – Spoon Lyrics | 20 years ago |
this whole record is so good, the transitions between each song is amazing; but i have to say my absolute favorite is at the very end of this song (about 6 minutes from the start) with the 'hidden track' that sounds like the very end of Last Stop: come in from the cold for awhile everything will be alright come in from the noise for a time everything will be alright everything will be alright for now, goodbye, friend goodbye check it out if you have the record, if not go pick it up. |
The Rolling Stones – Beast Of Burden Lyrics | 21 years ago |
