Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics 22 years ago
i've read a lot of lyrics for this song, and they're all similar, but this one is completely different from everything i've seen. and i think this is probably gonna be next to teen spirit once the studio version comes out after all the law suits are settled. does anyone know if any of the song besides the aragon version is on the internet?

Nine Inch Nails – Terrible Lie (Sympathetic Mix) Lyrics 22 years ago
I thought it was actually a message to god. He hates the hypocrisy in religion, but understands the wanting in himself to hold on to it because it's comforting.

i think this song is about becoming disenchanted with a girl. he once saw her as beautiful, but now seems to blame her for tainting him.

Nine Inch Nails – Mr. Self Destruct Lyrics 22 years ago
i always thought it was about drugs. how they hurt you, how they take everything away, how they destroy you. i think that the "i" in the songs is like drugs are speaking or something. i don't just think that for the obvious reasons, everything in the song seems to go along with that theory.

Nine Inch Nails – Big Man with a Gun Lyrics 22 years ago
trent reznor seems to be making fun of men who get self-confidence from feeling powerful, and having a big gun and a big penis make many men feel powerful. i don't think he's saying he's one of those men, ninon, i think he's commenting on them. it's a great song. maybe it's disturbing, but great observations often are.

Nine Inch Nails – March of the Pigs Lyrics 22 years ago
First off, HalfLifeSuicide, I didn't pull the Sharon Tate theory out of my ass, he did rent the house and recorded March of the Pigs and Piggy in it. You're right, March of the Pigs wasn't on The Fragile, it was on The Downward Spiral. I made a mistake. The Downward Spiral was the album he recorded in the Tate house. I think you're pretty smart, Cherub Rock. I guess March of the Pigs could be about cops, but I think Cherub Rock's theory makes more sense. Trent Rezner, like other great songwriters, seems to pick more than one theme or subject for a song. This makes it easier for people to relate to them based on their own experiences. Just something for everyone to keep in mind before they decide they know what a song is about and criticize someone elses idea (cough, cough, HalfLifeSuicide).

Nirvana – All Apologies Lyrics 22 years ago
I know everyone who wrote what they think the song about is probably really smart, smarter than me, but you guys are all way too analytical. Kurt Cobain wrote this song a long time before he even met Courtney Love. And Courtney Love was doing drugs a long time before she met Kurt Cobain. It doesn't have anything to do with her. And I can see how someone could think that it was about Courtney Love, (I'm married/buried) but I really think it was a stretch to say that it was about him got her hooked onto drugs. Now that I've said that, I have to say I don't really know what the song is about. Unless Kurt told someone, he was vague to the point where no one could figure out exactly what he meant. And I'm not criticizing him for it; I think it proves his integrity just a little bit more because he didn't write an obvious song just so it would be more mainstream and people would get it. It could have been about his own negative view about marriage from childhood, since his parents got divorced when he was nine. It could be about so many things, which I think makes it a better song because more people could relate to it based on their own experiences.

Nine Inch Nails – Starfuckers, Inc. Lyrics 22 years ago
Trent Rezner actually wrote this song about Marilyn Manson. They had been friends, and Trent Rezner actually helped Marilyn Manson out with his career quite a bit. I don't know anything about a falling out between them, and I'm definately not ashamed to admit I don't know much about Marilyn Manson, but I think that people can still appreciate the song on levels beyond that. The title Starfuckers, Inc. was probably a comment geared at Marilyn Manson's relationship with Rose McGowan, and that Marilyn Manson sold out, or is putting on an act to make money. Trent Rezner has delivered some of the most beautiful, twisted, hateful, and heartfelt songs I have ever heard. It's nice to hear him throw a song at us that's just a fun rocker every once in a while.

Nine Inch Nails – March of the Pigs Lyrics 22 years ago
Trent Rezner rented the house where Sharon Tate was slain by the Manson family, and recorded The Fragile in the living room where the murder took place. There was a pig carved in her pregnant belly. I think this song has a lot to do with that, but it seems to be also about the enjoyment of the hunt, and the pleasure of the kill. I don't know what exactly the pigs symbolize in this song, it could be a number of things. I don't claim to know what i'm talking about, so I could definately have misinterpreted the song.
