Duran Duran – The Wild Boys Lyrics 1 year ago
Whether it was intended or not, I feel like this song has a double meaning since the Wild Boys from the original book it speaks of are homosexuals. “They’ll try to tame you, looks like they’ll try again” “Wild boys never chose this way”
I doubt it was meant to do this, but you never know.

Duran Duran – Last Chance on the Stairway Lyrics 1 year ago
This sounds to me like it’s about a couple that got together at a party or club or something of the sort, and has been having trouble keeping the relationship together ever since. The singer still doesn’t even know the girl well, but he really thinks she’s beautiful and doesn’t want to the relationship to end. But he’s messed up so many times that it’s his last chance (on the stairway).

Duran Duran – New Moon on Monday Lyrics 1 year ago
@[themenacing:44360] I thought of more actually, after a few more listens it sounds like it could also be about holding onto your beliefs, no matter how many people deny them or pressure you for answers about it, and that can bring good things
The good things can be change in life, like I said previously. Either that or it’s just about people who worship the new moon

Duran Duran – The Reflex Lyrics 1 year ago
I think this song is about relying on one’s childish instinct, for lack of a better description. When you find yourself completely stuck, so you just fall back on the instinctive risk that you’ve had the urge to take. If this makes any more sense, it’s like doing what the voice in your head that you always dismiss is telling you to do as a last resort.

Duran Duran – New Religion Lyrics 1 year ago
I’ve always thought it was about the internal conflict of whether a person should go with the masses or live by their own beliefs. The ‘talking for free’ in the chorus seems to refer to voicing your opinions and beliefs without feeling condemned to silence by a religion. “I get along fine with them friends of mine, but you have to make a choice” makes it seem like the singer’s friends and peers all live by one belief, or religion, but the singer is conflicted between that and what he wants to believe. Furthermore, “Only get one look before you die,” sounds to me like the singer is realizing he’ll die one day, so he may as well believe what he wants to.

Duran Duran – New Moon on Monday Lyrics 1 year ago
This is way more simplistic than anyone else’s interpretations and I’m probably wrong, but I’ve assumed it was just about celebrating change of some sort..? Just accepting any type of change in your life. To me the ‘firedance’ doesn’t sound sexual. Since it comes directly after mentioning a torch, it seems like it’s just about dancing.. with the torch.
