Green Day – Drama Queen Lyrics 5 years ago
A lot of the phrases in this song (like many I hear from Green Day), seem to me to have multiple levels of meaning... a literal one and a figurative one.

For example "She dangles from her necklace" could indicate a locket with her picture or something? But also I think conveys this strong figurative feeling of fragility, sort of "hanging off a cliff", or maybe as some have said that sort of on the edge suicidal idea, supported by the lyric later "I think she’s going psycho". She's fragile and off-base some how. But yet the writer has these opposing lyrics of sentiment and nurturing.

Another one I'm surprised people don't see is that "She's old enough to bleed now" is clearly a double meaning. Figuratively it supports the idea of emotional pain, she's growing up and encountering emotional scars and fragility. But then literally, well she's also growing up and bleeding as in her period. It sounds a bit crass but Green Day isn't known for stopping at weird boundaries. Its sort of an odd coming of age song.
