I always loved this song. Sweet, breezy, innocent 60s feel-good music, when all the future was bright, jobs were plentiful, there was still love-and-peace in the world (a social construct, of course). I was initially pleased to hear it surfaced in public consciousness, but depressed when I read all these latter comments. Way to make something bright and happy into something sordid and ugly. Cr*pping all over 'Windy' and dragging it down. Thanks a lot, BB. Now my pretty hippie-ish 'Windy' has aged into a raddled old whore, immersed in drugs and prostitution, though perhaps it's Windy's DAUGHTER on BB, learning the ropes as a whore-trainee. |
