Simon and Garfunkel – Punky's Dilemma Lyrics 4 years ago
@[ironjeff:31080] this reply may be 9 years old, but as such now, it only proves over all of that time that YOUR explanation has been the most clear, succinct and correct version. We've now all had years of speculation, rumours and titillating ideas clarified with multiple interviews with S&G, notes on their fan pages, web sites and personal commentary at their concerts. Myself have never stopped listening, learning (or playing guitar) and enjoying their music. I find it extraordinary that even in these times, their lyrics could easily be applied to current political upheaval, world and potential war issues. Even this song could still be applied to several subsequent conflicts ongoing as I write. Interesting how some of our best writers songs/lyrics are having a resurgence and applying to current events with just as much impact as they did back then. It makes one wonder, have we come a full circle, or is it a perpetual circle with each generation facing similar and near identical life situations, making it easier to apply older, much loved and still cherished lyrics to our lives vs much of the trite, manufactured sort of music of today. That said, thank you for your contribution, belated but still appreciated. Warm regards, ladybudd

Stereophonics – Dakota Lyrics 5 years ago
Being an older lady, I tend to hear a song, the lyrics (not worried about this crazy 'you stole my song shite')...but it reminds me of "Don Henley " the end of innocence" in some respects....first love and not worried about sex, just about the being together :) jmo

Queen – Don't Stop Me Now Lyrics 5 years ago
Such a shame there is not a 'complain/remove comment' feature on this forum. That said, AdamGullets comment is pure tripe. Older experienced genuine Queen fans from their first days will also have paid particular attention to Brian May and other members of the band and staff interviews. Freddy wrote this song at the height of hedonistic days, his discovery of the gay/bi clubs in NYC and in his own interviews he admits that during this time he was having the time of his life, with little regard as to potential future consequences (aids had NOT been named yet) and his intentions during this time of exploration, less stigma for gay/bi men in the places/clubs he had recently 'discovered'. He himself said he wanted to live his life then as fully, fast, dangerous, being loved by as many people as he could, sexual and otherwise. People seem to either deny/claim that most of Queens music was about sex/gay/bi/aids...and whilst some of it was, much of it was not. They ALL wrote for the band, had written FIVE songs for Highlander after being asked for just one. They also wrote the Flash Gordon soundtrack, and their epic Bohemian Rhapsody was an expiramental piece turned down by multiple promoters and labels, and when finally picked up on a punt, became one of their most acknowledged masterpieces in spite of it mostly being ambiguous in its lyrics. Brian, and his other bandages were intellectuals, had varied degrees, with Brian being an amazing astronomer (with a PHD/doctorate, and also one of our most respected wildlife, climate, ecology advocates.
I understand this forum is primarily comments that speculate on meanings, but for the love of Freddy and other artists, do some bl**dy research first before writing thick, inane and INSULTING comments...yes, that's to the prat, yes YOU Mr AdamGullets ...proper tw*t! Ignorance can be changed with education, but Stupid is forever. ;)
