Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[rockn38:1962] Really? I thought it's poetic meaning was that of trying to take on a large obstacle (such as traveling through Kashmir) and preparing to take it down. |

@[WYWH:1961] This is my favorite, Stairway to Heaven could be better IMO. |

@[Ereinion:1960] It's a beautiful and mystical valley, I looked it up on google. |

@[Adman:1959] The poetic meaning of this song is amazing and doesn't have a perverted meaning as far as I can tell - my comment on the meaning I think this song has is somewhere in the comments, also, I believe Led Zep were on drugs in about the middle time of their career, so they probably weren't when they were writing their last album. |
Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[ledzeprocks:1958] I am a fan of Led Zeppelin and I dislike rappers in all ways... I don't know why some rapper would ever want to make a remake of this amazing song, most rappers don't have the musical skill to. |
Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This song is basically the song of the gods, best Led Zep song ever, beats Stairway to Heaven 10/10. That being said the lyrics aren't bad either, though ridiculously weird (like stairway to heaven) they have a good meaning if you sit down and try to see what Plant was trying to make of it. Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream = Let all possible things happen, good or bad, let me have a good life experience. I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been = I have gone through a lot to be where I am now To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen = Being with people like me (makes sense for a band to right something like this) and they are quite amazing They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed = We have experienced a lot but are still waiting/wanting for something Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, whose sounds caress my ear = Someone/something pleasant is trying to communicate with him But not a word I heard could I relate, the story was quite clear = He didn't really understand/care about what that object was trying to tell him Oh, oh. Oh, I been flying... mama, there ain't no denyin' = I have had an amazing experience I've been flying, ain't no denyin', no denyin' All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground = I am now surrounded by awfulness and I am a part of that And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land = I am in a bad way amazed by this Trying to find, trying to find where I've been. = same Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream = What has happened to me seemed to be mysterious and left a lasting effect Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream = ("yellow desert stream" is a metaphor for something bad/evil) The things I've done/happened to me are [Yellow Desert Stream] My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again = (Shangri-La is a mystical, harmonious valley. Summer moon is a metaphor for preparing for something bad) I am preparing to come back, to stop this bad force that is against me Sure as the dust that floats high in June, when movin' through Kashmir. = I am confident I will be victorious Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years = It is going to be a long journey With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear = Confident that I will persevere these bad things Ohh. When I'm on, when I'm on my way, yeah = I am going off to fight When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah = I am protecting/fighting for [something/someone] Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I'm down... = Things didn't go as planned Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I'm down, so down = Confirmation of above statement Ooh, my baby, oooh, my baby, let me take you there = let me finish this beast Let me take you there. Let me take you there = ("you" is probably himself or someone the protagonist appreciates) I am fighting for [something] An odd song, probably about someone that was very experienced and some sort of antagonist appeared (health issues, financial issues, etc.) and they are planning on taking it down. Hard. Quite some good song lyrics if you ask me, and they fit perfectly with the mood of the song |

Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Why would they block this song? Because it's satanic? Yeah, right... It's one of the most iconic rock songs ever, and nowhere near satanic. |
Journey – Wheel in the Sky Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I think this song is more deep than about traveling... be more original. The wheel in the sky is a metaphor for the sun, and the rest of the lyrics such as Winter is here again oh lord, Haven't been home in a year or more I hope she holds on a little longer Sent a letter on a long summer day Made of silver, not of clay I've been runnin' down this dusty road all of those mainly mean the narrator is trying to hold up in a sort of struggle, she is a metaphor for the narrator's mind, and the rest such as "I hope she holds on a little longer" and "Sent a letter on a long summer day" mean the narrator is trying to hold up, then "Winter is here again, oh lord" and/or "I've been runnin' down this dusty road" are explaining how hard the struggle is, the same can be said about the next stanza. The chorus Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin' I don't know where I'll be tomorrow Wheel in the sky keeps on turnin' means that life will go on and days are still passing, and that life is uncertain too. |
The Animals – House Of The Rising Sun Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Good song about how some people will fail in life, and may go to prison ("House of the Rising Sun" "Ball and Chain") and they want to teach others not to, quite interesting for a full metaphor song like it. |
The Black Keys – Fever Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Okay I've thought this song through, and I can say this song is a story: Please note: "Fever" is the person's passion or dreams Fever where'd you run to - He didn't pursue his dreams Fever where'd you run to Acting right Is so routine - His current life is boring A fever let me live a dream - his "fever" let him live life greatly, but alas he didn't choose it Fever, how much slept too - he never chooses to pursue it No one misbehave too - going along with his life being boring Fever let me sun screw - this means he's asking himself to pursue his dreams Wouldn't leave you if I could - he still will never stop thinking about his dreams Fever - puts emphasize on how important it is, like "oh, fever" Fever 'cause I’m breaking - he pursued his dreams, and now he hates it Fever got me aching - same thing Fever how will you explain - he's confused, he loves this dream but he hates it Break it down again - same thing Fever got me guilty - he loves and hates his dreams, and it makes him sad Just go ahead and kill me - he doesn't know what to do with his life Fever how will you explain Break it down again Fever can you hear me - he still wants to pursue his dreams Fever can you hear me You shook me like I never been - he is stunned by not having anything to appreciate Now show me how to love again - he wants to try pursue his dreams again It used to be a blessing - he loved his dreams But fever got me stressing - now it's to much work and pressure Realizing I am the played - this passion isn't what he thought it would be But fever let me play the game - still wants to pursue it Fever 'cause I’m breaking Fever got me aching Fever how will you explain Break it down again Fever got me guilty Just go ahead and kill me Fever why won't you explain Break it down again Now if the cold pale light in her eyes - his dream is tiring out altogether Reaches those horizon lines - he's becoming uninterested You know not to leave her - he STILL won't leave it for good Now If the cold pale light in her eyes Reaches those horizon lines You know not leave her Fever Someone needs to fix the lyrics... |
The Black Keys – Lonely Boy Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[jackson109:827] And also, the mama kept you but daddy left you thing is a metaphor, in the world of songs stuff is never as it seems, yeah yeah okay it sounds like a love song, but in general it really isn't, it's a song souly about persistence and never giving up on something, whether it be a large project or a girlfriend. |
The Black Keys – Lonely Boy Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I generally think the song is about something someone wants to have (a friend, a talent, etc.) but can't get easily, and he might have some passion to keep trying, in another words, it's a song about persistence. Well I'm so above you - the object must be something other people wouldn't really try to get And it's plain to see - self-explanatory But I came to love you anyway - he wants So you tore my heart out - the object made him upset And I don't mind bleeding - the person will keep on trying Any old time to keep me waiting - he will be persistant Waiting, waiting Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting - he has a motivation Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting I'm a lonely boy - he hasn't gotten or achieved the object yet I'm a lonely boy Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting Well your mama kept you but your daddy left you And I should've done you just the same - he likes but dislikes the object at the same time, this is connected with the previous lyrics But I came to love you - he loves the object no matter what And I want to flee - obtain/master the object Any old time you keep me waiting Waiting, waiting Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting I'm a lonely boy I'm a lonely boy Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting I'm a lonely boy I'm a lonely boy Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting I think of this every time I listen to this song, and it reminds be to be persistent and never give up no matter what it is I'm working on. |
Hozier – Take Me to Church Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I think this song is about how people give there live away to church, not all the rest of the dirty meanings. Like, people just don't care about anything eventually but church, I can relate, IMO a lot of the lyrics relate to this. |
The Black Keys – Fever Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Edit: I think it's about someone who wants too follow their dreams but once they do they don't like it, but they still want to follow their dreams. |
The Black Keys – Fever Lyrics | 9 years ago |
from what I can tell, this song Is about someone who gave up on their dreams to do something else, although I'm still iffy on some of the lyrics, but why I think this is that the so called 'fever' is that persons dreams. |
Imagine Dragons – It's Time Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I think this song is about a project or something that someone is trying to finish but other people want him to stop, also the project is sort of failing, but he still continues, sort of a nostalgic song almost. (Like Photograph by Nickelback.) By a little it also means not to listen to other's input. |
Of Monsters And Men – Dirty Paws Lyrics | 9 years ago |
songs do not have just one meaning, they have as many as people can come up with, so there is no wrong interpretation, and just saying, don't take music literal, trust me you'll end up with crazy interpretations that no one can relate too, still, like I said, an interpretation is just as good as any interpretation, but if no one can relate to it than the interpretation is useless. And I used to like songs by their sound only, but now I can't appreciate a song until I've came up/found an interpretation, although I knew this song had a good meaning, I didn't figure it out until coming to this page. |
Of Monsters And Men – Dirty Paws Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I can't define the lyrics of half of the song, there just weird and seem meaningless, (i.e. She ran down the forest slope, really? Where's the meaning in that?) Although i think the main meaning is basicly, that war sucks, yes war, and that war sucks, probably has a more deeper meaning that that, and i'll think about it. |
The Black Keys – Gold on the Ceiling Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Well, I think this song is based around a group of some sort (By group i mean Army, government, Religious group, etc.) Trying to take down a smaller group, a rebellion. My interpretation is quite rough, although the basic meaning down that i want: Down in the waves She screams again=The group gets attacked again Roar at the door My mind can't take much more= self explaining I could never drown in= they can't take me down and my posse, or change our minds. They wanna' get my (2x) = They wanna take You down CHORUS Gold on the ceiling= All your ideas and rebellion over all. I ain't blind= Self explaining/obvious It's just a matter of time=Self explaining Before you steal it= before you attack us again It's all right= The posse won't care, and rebound. Ain't no guarding my high= They don't care, they can/will rebound Clouds covered love's= How uptight the bigger group is, shown metaphorically. Barbed wire snare= How uptight the bigger group is, shown metaphorically. Strung up strung out= Strung up=the tried taking bigger group down, Strung out= The bigger group didn't care, and rebounded I just can't go without I could never drown in They wanna get my (2x) |
Imagine Dragons – Radioactive Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I honestly think this song is about empowering yourself to push away everything stopping you from being happy or moving forward on something, i.e. someone gets bullied a lot, one day they become radioactive and show the bullies that it's "the new age" and pushes them away, or your pushing away things from stopping you from i.e. an experiment, so the song in my opinion has 2 main meanings that I can relate to. |
Imagine Dragons – Monster Lyrics | 9 years ago |
My interpretation was that the monster is like the disease or what you call his "true colors." |
Imagine Dragons – Monster Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This song is like, excellent for Middle-High Scholars, I praise Imagine Dragons and you for your excellent interpretation, I had about the same interpretation, also, another good example to match well with the "If I told you what I was, would you turn your back on me, and if I seemed dangerous, would you be scared?" part is lets say someone is an Atheist and a Christian meets him, the atheist would be basically the narrator saying that much people are Christian, and the Christian MIGHT not like him simply because he's an atheist, hence "If I told you what I was, would you turn your back on me?" part. |
The Black Keys – Little Black Submarines Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Yeah, the basic gist of the song is being unfortunately disconnected from the world or just a group of people, I think we've all felt like an outcast in our lives so this song really can relate to a lot of people, including me. |
The Black Keys – Little Black Submarines Lyrics | 9 years ago |
When I first heard this song I thought it was about being an outcast, heres why: Little black submarines Operator please= "operater" as in the world itself Put me back on the line= put him back in society Told my girl I’d be back Operator please This is wreckin my mind= shows it's meaning already Oh can it be The voices calling me= The people who abandoned him They get lost= they go away And out of time= same thing I should’ve seen it glow= should've seen the people's hate towards him But everybody knows That a broken heart is blind= He was broken and possibly tried to get back in society? That a broken heart is blind Pick you up, let you down When I wanna go To a place I can hide You know me, I had plans But they just disappeared To the back of my mind Oh can it be The voices calling me They get lost And out of time I should’ve seen a glow But everybody knows That a broken heart is blind That a broken heart is blind Treasure maps fallen trees= Treasure maps as in he is trying to find a way back to society and fallen trees as being an outcast Operator please Call me back when it’s time Stolen friends and disease= disease is the same thing as fallen trees Operator please Patch me back to my mind= self explaining Oh can it be The voices calling me They get lost And out of time I should’ve seen a glow But everybody knows That a broken heart is blind That a broken heart is blind That a broken heart is blind |
