General Comment: Am I the only person that thinks this song is about death? Come on guys, be more imaginative than thinking about drugs and exs.. Realising at your own funeral 'that love flows' like everyone in the world wonders who will actually turn up to their funeral.. 'Through the glory of life I will scatter on the floor' (ashes scattered) 'And in my thoughts I have bled, for the riddles Ive been fed, another life moves over' White horses symbolise death, which come to take her away. Death may appear tall and scented maybe on horse back? The song is called the rip..... Just realised this means 'Rest In Peace' !!!! Just seems she is singing about death really... Maybe I'm morbid |

| I can't help but think that this has a much deeper meaning than Somthing as simple as Long lost love, I think it holds a more spiritual meaning I feel, about how humanity has evolved in a sinister way and closing the chapter on being connected through human eyes and touch. Also also how things have become less organic and more distant with the complexity and sterility of the robotic world we live in now. (Communicating through phones and computers rather than face to face). Like death to that part of the existence he lived in during the 70s. Just what I feel off this song. But however people interpret it, it is a masterpiece and holds a personal meaning to every individual :-) | |

If you read the lyrics, to me it's about death, and facing up to the fact that its time to depart the world and meet the maker. For example the lyrics- 'Time marches on never ending time keeps its own time here we stand at beginning' means time continues regardless and will continue even after death takes us and it is possible that we go back to the beginning at the end of our existence. The lyrics- 'Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow means nothing at all If we don't hear the line when today places it's call' means that there is no tomorrow for the departed after death takes us. The lyrics - 'So tell me how do you do finally I meet you you don't know what I've been through waiting and wondering about you... ' mean like a greeting to death 'how do you do' and all our lives we wonder what it will be like when we die. The lyrics - 'I knew you'd come knocking one day unannounced like a thief in the night.' Mean we know it will happen sooner or later that death will steal us. Just my interpretation :) |
