It would be very ironic if a person incapable of expressing his feelings of love being intuitive enough to find fault with that. It would mean that he does know what to say but doesn't, The Author of the song wrote it in less than 45 minutes because he has ADD. He's not assigning blame on ADD as a fault, but just as a matter of fact. He shows his love through music, made this song in his mind because of his ADD and his ability to shift his thoughts and compose. He compares his music to angels cries. Could have been singing but that would have been harder to rhyme. That's his own sick pride, to compare his music to angels. Of course all these thoughts are the result of his ADD. His thoughts shift through many things, cry for help or kill myself, two roads to take. why is he the way he is? is he special, a different breed, or is he simply not listening? Who cares, Blame it on his ADD Since he has ADD and now he's stuck with half a song so he cleverly spills into the La la la la la la which plays perfectly into the ADD theme whether intentional or not. I 'm not sure if the sail part is my interpretation, which is his mind drifting from one thought to the other as if he's personally sailing from one thought to the other, or I've heard the author tended to just up and leave without a word throughout his life and picked up the nickname sail. |

| You all read too deeply into the song! The author aid in an interview he wrote the entire song, including the music, in less than 45 minutes while waiting for his lunch. With that said, here we go... "This is how I show my love" ready? Through music " I made it in my mind because" he thought up the entire song and music, if it's not talent, then go ahead and "blame it on my ADD" "this is how an angel cries" note: cries not dies. He compares music/song to angels cries or laughter or any other emotion but cries happens to rhyme with the next line so he used it. "Blame it on my own sick pride" yes, he's simply apologizing in a way for comparing his music to angels "blame it on my ADD, baby" easier than sick pride. All the rest is the same, highs and lows "maybe I should cry for help, maybe I should kill myself" "maybe I'm a different breed, maybe I'm not listening" he's just constantly thinking about stuff and could just keep on going so he conveys that "la la la la la, la la la la la " His thoughts drift wherever from one to the other as if like a sail boat blown in the wind ....
