Blindside – The Endings Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is about the truth that everything comes to an end. In the beginning the song use a metaphor of riding on a wave, which comes crashing down and ends. And he is scared of it ending. HE is looking deep inside himself to try to overcome this fear and knows only if he has a special person at his side he can overcome the fear of endings. Next a metaphor of a mountain to climb is used. HE is trusting his instinct and climing it, but he is scared because he is so high up. But then he admit he would sleep to the sound of monster's roars if he can sleep next the heartbeat forever. Meaning with that special someone at his side he can handle any fears!

Blindside – Time Will Change Your Heart (Victory Rock) Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is about two people who were in love, but they were always fighting and always hurting each other because they were so different. They break apart for now, but he hopes that she will return back to him and that time will heal all their problems that they were having because he really did love her and hopes that somehow with the passage of time things will work out, but you get the feeling that it really won't. Even so he is still waiting for her.

Sound pretty accurate?

Blindside – You Can Hide It Lyrics 21 years ago
Ok, now the two religious guys could be right, but I am not sure if this band is extremely religious or anything. What Label are they signed to? Anyway listening to the song and analyzing the lyrics, I may take it down a notch, but keep a similiar interpretation.

I think this song applies to politicians with voters, Teenagers with parents, Church goers with Jesus, and almost any type of relationship like that. It is about how we always want the good part of a relationship,
"get a tan and put shades after staring at the sun" also "You keep biting the hand that feeds you" also "I am having a hard time understanding your needs" Etc...

So basically you can hide the fact that you only want the good parts and pretend or you can also fight it, but in the end the blood of "hurting" somebody will always catch up to you and you'll remember that relationships don't work that way. I really think this song can apply to any relationship and is meant to apply to all forms!

NOFX – Bleeding Heart Disease Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is about how we all think money will make us happy, but that it really won't and it is all an illusion. It is also about how corporations restrict our liberty and everything in life is controled by money. All that in just one song and all of it connected to each other.

NOFX – All Outta Angst Lyrics 21 years ago
This is the first time Fat Mike writes a song not so much about the USA government. In this song I think he is saying, "Wow there is so many problems in the rest of the world." I don't have it in me anymore to rant and complain about the USA government. And then he goes on to sing about what he doesn't like about what is going on in Pakistan and Mongolia.

NOFX – You're Bleeding Lyrics 21 years ago
About a girl he was in love with. He felt so lucky to be with her and stuff. Blah Blah!. But after dating her for awhile she wasn't same girl and became a drain on him, enough that is felt like he was dying and he feels happier without her. He doesn't care how pretty she is or any of that other crap. She is draining!

Now this a REAL song about girls and how much they suck, Much better than New Found Glory and stuff like that (though I do like New Found Glory). Only Nofx could make a song about a girl like this one!

NOFX – Vanilla Sex Lyrics 21 years ago
I usually love it when a really good band covers a band's song. After all it is two different version of the song. I always end up listening to both again sometime. The Original has its high points and the cover version usually has its high points. I do like the Rancid version better, which is sort of wierd because Nofx is my favorate band, though Rancid is like my third fave, so I gotta give'em credit where credit is due. there cover of this song is awesome!

Anyway, this song is about how their is actually a real law on the books that you can't have any sex other than missionary sex. I bet most of your didn't know that. You gotta remember when they wrote the song the internet really wasn't around yet. So the porn they refer to was magazine porn and live shows. I think during that time period the government was trying to restrict that too. This song is a song about the government trying to control people's sex habbits. Only allowed to have missionary position sex = vanilla sex.

NOFX – Zyclone B Bathouse Lyrics 21 years ago
This starts out describing a country destroying a group of people in theire bathhouse (Ala Nazi) Then it turns into today's Corporate business's comitting the murder now. I love the last lines...This song really makes you see what the Nazis did in Germany was disgusting and how all mass murder is digusting and it makes you see how sleazy corporations really are and it makes you really wonder who is truly more decent one man or a dozen men?

Nirvana – Hairspray Queen Lyrics 22 years ago
Hmm I think this song does have a meaning. I can't picture Kurt just strewing lyrics together for the hell of it. doesn't seem like his style.

When I read it to me it makes me think of some of my relationships...You were mine, I was yours, and then later on after we broke up we became enemies. The At Night Lyrics all seem to lead to wishing for sex and then getting it, except the very last one...Fish-filled garbage. It sort of sounds like ok I was in it for the sex and I thought I wanted you to be mine, but I'd rather have you as an enemy because now you make me think of fish-filled garbage...That is what the song means to me. Does that sound like a pretty accurate meaning?

NOFX – We Threw Gasoline On The Fire And Now We Have Stumps For Arms And No Eyebrows Lyrics 22 years ago
Alright, I don't believe half the bands that most people think are sellouts are actually sellouts. Anyway the meaning of this song...This is probably one of the hardest Nofx songs to figure out...

Line: "Brilliant a word describing something dumb"
"You create to desecrate the villain I've become"
"A Prophet not to be made, but heard."
"Speaks in tongues and sarcasms, to me it's glee, to you absurd"

Meaning: I think this is about punk's message. There are so many great ideas in punk about society and what is wrong with it, and it is told like the singer is a prophet, through sarcasm and lyrics, but most people just see them as absurd and think his brilliant idea is dumb and think of the singer as a villain.

Lyrics: "The seed is gently sown back to mother Earth"
"The Flower blooms resplendent fumes, a miracle rebirth"
"The cynic in search for something more"
"The fragant air cannot compare to what it was"
"The Great Before"

Meaning: I think this part is talking about how even though most people will ignore the important messages in punk music, their are a few that will understand and take it to heart. A seed sown, a flower blooming. The fumes are other people, trying to stop the flower from growing. The Cynic is someone who wants to believe, thus he sort of likes the fragrant air (the message), but he still wants something more. He still feels like something is missing.

Lyrics: "Remember the Good old days, remember the sound"
"Remember the sweet mustiness underground"
"No I don't feel the need for re-living."
"Somethings are better off dead."

Meaning: These would probably be the best lyrics to support the idea that this is about Nofx selling out. But I think it is more about the original punk movement with the Ramones and Sex Pistols and even when Operation Ivy was around. Back when everything was underground, and it was just for them, but now punk is for the world and its messsage is for the world and though he misses the old days, they are better off dead because punk's message was always meant for the world to hear, so that maybe will start to listen and realize we are total assholes to each other sometimes.

Lyrics: "Never thought the Furnace was going to burn us"
"We worked the Bellows for so long"
"The comfort of the fire apathized us"
"Looks like we burned ourselves alive"

Meaning: Working the bellows shows how hard they have worked to get their meanings and songs to people. They try over and over again. They try so hard and have been doing it for so long that they sort of have become apathized to what they are even doing anymore and when they realize how long they've been doing it it feels like they have gotten burnt alive. They've dedicated their lives to this and so many people just ignore them.

Lyrics: "Remember the old band we filled ears with pain"
"Nothing to lose, there was nothing to gain."
"No, I don't miss my span of attention."
"I do miss my old friend Tim"

Meaning: He is talking about the old band when it was just fun and he never imagined where he would be today. "Nothing to lose, nothing to gain." And he refers to his friend Tim.

Overall Meaning: I think this song is about how they have been a punk band for so long, with so many important messages for society to hear, but they just keep getting ignored. They've dedicated their lives to this message of changing the world with punk and are now reflecting back on how they got here.

To me this a song about somebody who was a pennypincher and saved all his money, but all he got was a grave in the end. So now his kids will get to inherit his money, while he is dead.

NOFX – Buggley Eyes Lyrics 22 years ago
No they don't. They finished with the Nofx Theme song at Warped Tour at Randall's Island, but they did play this song.

Anyway this song is funny and it is about getting drunk, sleeping with a girl who didn't look so bad when you were drunk, but in the morning you wake up and realize how nasty she is.

NOFX – All His Suits Are Torn Lyrics 22 years ago
I think Blienk might be right. When I listened to this song I always imagined Billy Cobin as a poor person living on the streets that once had it made. A little different from what you said. You say it focused on somebody's fall, but nobody cares because they aren't famous. I think it focuses more on the person's fall after they had it all and Nofx is trying to say that just because you have something one day doesn't mean you're not gonig to be poor and hungry the next. So you should be grateful for what you have.

NOFX – Perfect Government Lyrics 22 years ago
Yeah this is a cover. The lyrics are really good though and seem very Nofxish anyway. It shows some of the problems in the U.S. and as the problems grow the government is only getting more powerful and more greedy.

NOFX – 180 Degrees Lyrics 22 years ago
I think this song is more about people uncaring what is going on around them whether it is government or life in general or helping their fellow man. And then when something finally hits you as a person and starts to make you care, you do a total 180. We are so caught up in our own thing we pretty much say "fuck the world", "I don't care!" Just focus on work and the things that matter to me, but eventually by not caring things get corrupt and it will effect you and you will start to care when it is too late. Anyone else see this the way I do?

NOFX – All Of Me Lyrics 22 years ago
Well, this is a cover. Nofx did not write this song, they covered it. However I think it was one of the best covers they ever did. I love this song. The bass line is really cool and the drumming and guitar parts are dead just like every other Nofx song. Anyway these lyrics are so simplistic, yet I think the simple lyrics about a girl leaving you is so true. I think almost everybody out there knows exactly what it feels like to have a girl they really really like leave them. (I am not talking about that girl you just like, I am talking about that girl you REALLY like!) And that is what this song is talking about!
