Pink Floyd – High Hopes Lyrics 10 years ago
David Gilmour said it is kind of his biography. He wrote and recorded the entire song all on his own. He also said that it was the last song that was written on the Division Bell, which is the last Pink Floyd album. The last Pink Floyd song ever written, and it is fitting. Because it sounds so damn sad.

Judas Priest – Eat Me Alive Lyrics 10 years ago
From the Metal Works '73-'93 booklet:

"It was just a spoof caricature sexual song, that's all!" -Rob Halford

There is no deep meaning at all. Glenn Tipton said that he wrote it when he saw Rob riding to the studio on a motorcycle.

Judas Priest – Diamonds And Rust Lyrics 10 years ago
The original is about Joan Baez meeting Bob Dylan for the first time.

Also, Joan Baez said that she liked Priest's cover the best out of all of the covers.

Judas Priest – Beyond The Realms Of Death Lyrics 10 years ago
I realized how 2 of the last 3 Priest songs I have looked at we supposedly about drugs. I think that is the explanation that people go for too easily. I think this song is about somebody going into a coma and then they die right as soon as they wake up.

"Until one day he smiled / It seemed as though with pride / The wind kissed him goodbye / And then he died"

Maybe it's just me, but I can't think of any drugs, that people would normally use, off the top of my head that would bring somebody into a comatose state. And if you overdose, people would usually die pretty quickly.

Metal Church – Beyond The Black Lyrics 10 years ago
Definitely a good song. From the beginning, it seems to be about WWII. But it could be about some future global war.

Judas Priest – Locked In Lyrics 10 years ago
This is a great song. It is far from normal Priest, but still different from other bands of the same style. It is a really great song, and the video is hilarious. It would be funny to see them remake it now.

Judas Priest – Dreamer Deceiver Lyrics 10 years ago
Honestly, I have no idea what this song is about. But I do know that it will always be a beautiful song, and shows to the outside that not all metal bands are thrashing, screeching monsters, which is unfortunately a common (mis)conception. Rob's performance is amazing, and Glenn's solo as well. On youtube, there is a live version from, I believe, 1978. I would recommend it (there is also a Rocka Rolla live and Deceiver).

Judas Priest – Diamonds And Rust Lyrics 10 years ago
Very good song. I personally like the slow Priest version (Live in London, '98 Meltdown, Rising in the East, Epitaph tour). It is about the first time the original artist, Joan Baez, met Bob Dylan.

Judas Priest – Deal With The Devil Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is about their music career. "Driving in that transit / Down to Holy Joe's / Used to bang our heads while metal flowed". Holy Joe's is a nickname they gave to their first studio which was in the basement of a church. "We hit at night / Arena sight / And we can feel what we've been waiting for / Let me hear you roar / Upon the stage / We let it rage / And for a time we leave our world behind / To be with our own kind" describes a concert.

Judas Priest – Cathedral Spires Lyrics 10 years ago
That's exactly what I read. This song is amazing, and I think the rest of the album is too. It is a shame that the entire Ripper era is kind of looked down upon.

Judas Priest – Blood Red Skies Lyrics 10 years ago
I read somewhere that it was influenced by the future of The Terminator, but I don't know how credible it was. It would make sense, though, Either way, it will always be an amazing song.

Judas Priest – Breaking The Law Lyrics 10 years ago
First of all, you are a fag for feeling to need to call everyone a fag.

Second of all, Judas Priest is a little better than Sabbath, and Metallica isn't even in the same league.

Third, this song is not about "having fun and getting into trouble so enjoy it", it actually is about people having hard times, and also about Priest finally getting the gold album they wanted (and deserved), as is shown in the scene of the video where Rob pulls apart the vault bars and takes the gold record.

The only intelligent thing you said is that the song kicks ass.
