System of a Down – 36 Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Guys, I'm 100% sure the reason why it's called 36, is because if you look at their first 3 albums, (self titled, toxicity, steal this album) It is the 36th song. Now was it put there for a reason? I doubt it, because I remember watching an interview when John Dolmayan (system of a down drummer) said that first we make the songs, and we just title them song 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... etc. Until we find a name, and I'm guessing that's why. |
System of a Down – Tentative Lyrics | 10 years ago |
My thoughts: "Superstition taking all of us for a ride." -We're believing in this new theory of nothing being natural. "Mimes overtaken by the signs of the right." -We're not believing in anything that's not proven. "Do you hear us? We are rotting." -Just listen to ourselves... We're getting worse and worse. "We're going down, in a spiral to the ground." -We're slowly falling, trying to turn left & right. "Ceremonies have killed religions for they provide." -Groups have went after religions, because they provide a good to people. "The masked comforts to delusionals, they're all in fright." -I think this is a illuminatic reference, for they are hidden, providing comfort to the ones who believe in evidence, believing in whatever they are forced to believe because of their fright. "The true believer's head was bathed in sunlight." -Christian men we're killed, or en"light"ened with false beliefs. "While you are walking all detached, so tell us." -What were you thinking of when killing these believers when you have no mind to believe with. (detached) "No one, no one's gonna save us now, not even God, no one saved us, no one's gonna save us now." -We're this corrupt now, not even God would save us, why would he? During the Armenian Genocide we needed help... no one was there to save us, not even God, so after all why now? Maybe an Armenian Genocide reference (Armenian - First Christian Country / SOAD's culture & nationality) "Where do you expect us to go when the bombs fall?" -Throwing everything together... bombs... religion... corruption... a war is going to start, and when it does, and the bombs are dropped, what happens next? Where do we go, how do we fight, what do we believe in to save us? |

Not at all. Stop forcing your atheism. System Of A Down believes that you should do whatever you want, so they would never make such a corrupt song like that. |

Daron Malakian has mentioned it before that it in fact is Air, Trees, Water, Animals. |
System of a Down – Lost In Hollywood Lyrics | 10 years ago |
"Fags out there on Hollywood Blvd." I think it could be about the cigarette, but I really think he was taking a shot at homosexuals, which I 100% support. Hollywood is where "homos" got big. When people (specifically girls) hear that a guy that's famous is gay, they think "aww, omg he's so cute." So it has pretty much become acceptable for homosexual people to have their way, and it's all BULLSHIT that they're born gay. Why don't we see people that are "born gay" in places like Russia? America is turning into shit and Hollywood is taking over... and again, just an opinion. |

I'm sure it's not about war, it's about Hollywood. And I wish they made more songs about it, I see it everyday when I look out the window... it's eye-souring. |

Maybe those movies encouraged the song, but it's definitely not a song made for those movies, I'm sure it has deeper meaning. |
System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics | 10 years ago |
My thoughts: "Wake up, Grab a brush and put a little makeup" -I think it's referring to America covering up for things everyday. "You Wanted To" -The excuses that are given from countries, that have no reason to do a injustice. "I cry when angels deserve to die" -The innocent kids / families being killed for no good reason. "Self-Righteous suicide" -Not sure :( "Father, into your hands, I commend my spirit. Father into your hands, why have you forsaken me." -I think its a message about giving up all your power for God to return (depending on your religion) and save us from the depths of hell that Earth has gone to. Just my opinion :] |

You are quite a philosopher, my friend. If SOAD is that deep with their meaning, I am going to forever look at them in a different way. I wouldn't think that would be the message at all, but it all comes together, thanks for sharing your thoughts. |
