Fall Out Boy – The (After) Life of the Party Lyrics 9 years ago
I think this song is about a guy who's life is crumbling around him, and he goes to a party where he sees someone so beautiful, that kind of beauty that looks familiar to you yet you see in strangers. And just looking at that person, he uses his thoughts to escape from his mind.

He's just sitting there, staring at that beautiful stranger and imagines a whole future with that person. Just to run away for a few minutes.

The first two lines describe his life, then "Bloods cells pixelate, and the eyes dilate" is when he sees the person, and is astonished. the fourth line is how he is now completely mesmerized by just looking at that person and the moon is finally shining like it's meant to.

Then the chorus is how he questions if that person woud actually be worth it, and how he knows that this is all just looking at a stranger, but it's still some kind of love.

The second verse is how his imaginary relationship develops, and there is pain, passion and death in the relationship, but maybe that's what love stories have to endure.

Then the last line of the bridge is how he's now (without any evidence) convinced that the person he has created from a mere glance could actually make his life better.

That's just how I see it, I'm not sure if that's actually what it was meant to be about.

Green Day – Drama Queen Lyrics 10 years ago
I think it's about a girl (daughter of the narator) that is growing up, becoming a teenager. The song sort of sounds like a lullaby because while the father accepts she's growing up, he wants her to know that whatever happens, she'll still be his little girl.

She's a drama queen both for the classic baby tantrums as much as the classic "I hate my parents!" teenage tantrums. He's letting her grow up and experience things that everyone must learn at some point; for example, "You better call a lawyer" and "She is so wild and reckless" since a usual symptom of becoming a teenager is acting rebellious and sometimes getting in trouble with the law. Throughout the song you can see she experiences darker turns in life that turn her from a drama queen into a young woman "I think she's going phsyco", "From here to San Fransico" and "Her life is now unfolding" because she is experiencing the memories that will shape her into who she is.

A line that's repeated a few times is "She's old to bleed now" which I first I only thought of as "she's old enough to get her heart broken and get hurt now" but if you let it sink in a bit, you realize it may also be speaking about her period, which starts during puberty. I like to think it means both she is a teenager and gets her period and she's old enough to get emotionally hurt now.

Thanks for reading my looong interpretation!

Green Day – Fuck Time Lyrics 10 years ago
Well, Amanda has been a recurring character in Green Day history. An old girlfriend of Billie Joe, "She" was about her and so was "Whatsername" and (as you probably imagine) so was the song "Amanda" in ¡Tré! So I guess it's that Amanda Jones!

Panic! at the Disco – Girls/Girls/Boys Lyrics 10 years ago
I think this song is about a boy who's attracted to an inside-the-closet girl.

She has a boyfriend to cover up her sexuality, but sectretly has a girlfriend who she's actually interested in. The narrator knows about her girlfriend and manipulates the girl to have sex with him, telling her that if she does't, he´ll tell everyone about her sexuality, when she's not ready to come out. He doesn't care about how she feels, and he knows she doesn't like hima nd is only trying to keep him quiet, but he doesn't care.

The "Never did I think that I..." part is the girl speaking, telling us that she never thought wanting to keep a secret would lead her to this situation of wall and sword.

I'll explain it more carefully:

I don't wanna hear you've got a boyfriend
Sometimes, you're better off alone- "Why are you lying to yourself? We both know you don't like boys"
But if you change your mind, you know where I am
Yeah if you change your mind, you know where to find me
'Cause I don't ever wanna be your boyfriend- "If you want to keep it secret, I'll be waiting for you. Because we both know we're only using each other for different things"

And never did I think that I
Would be caught in the way you got me
Push another girl aside, and just give in- The girl isn't attracted to him, but she gives in if that's what it takes to stay in the closet

Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, manipulated)
Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, no-one can read it)- She's in love with a girl but is"loving" a boy because of manipulation
And never did I think that I
Would be caught in the way you got me
But girls love girls and boys
And love is not a choice

Pose, you've gotta save your reputation
They're close to finding out about your girlfriend- "Keep pretending to like boys if you wish, I don't care as long as your secret gets me laid"
But if you change your mind, you know where I am
Yeah if you change your mind, you know where to find me
'Cause I don't wanna save your reputation- "I'm waiting for you, and remember I'll tell on you if you don't shut up. I don't care if it ruins your reputation"

And never did I think that I
Would be caught in the way you caught me
Push another girl aside, and just give in- (I already explained)

Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, manipulated)
Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, no-one can read it)
And never did I think that I
Would be caught in the way you got me
But girls love girls and boys
And love is not a choice...(I already explained)

I am just a villain vying for attention from a girl
A girl who can't decide and here's the reason why- "I know what I'm doing is cruel, but I am getting this girl's attention either way. She can't decide what to do, and I use that in my advantage"

Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, manipulated)
Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, no-one can read it)
Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, manipulated)
Girls love girls and boys
(sophisticated, no-one can read it)
Never did I think that I
Would be caught in the way you got me
But girls love girls and boys
And love is not a choice.

The Who – 5:15 Lyrics 10 years ago
'Quiet storm water
M-m-my generation'
Am I crazy or did he stutter when he said 'M-m-my generation' to make a reference to his stuttering on 'My Generation'?!

I think this song is kind of about Tommy's mom. I mean, Tommy's dad never returned but still it sounds a lot like Mrs. Walker to me. Also, it was recorded about 3 years before Tommy came out, so I feel like it was an experiment before the big concept album that Tommy is.

The Who – Boris The Spider Lyrics 10 years ago
I think it is about over thinking a spider confrontation, like, if you simply imagine the whole scene described it's not about more than seeing a spider and crushing it with a book.
Anyway, ("anyhow," because REFERENCE!) it makes hell of a song, love it!

The Who – The Acid Queen Lyrics 10 years ago
Agreed, I guess the LSD thing makes sense but whenever I hear this song the prostitute thing is the scene that I imagine. Even though I will just remind you that "Captain Walker Didn't come home.
His unborn child will never know him.
Believe him missing with a number of men.
Don't expect o see him again."
So I think someone else took him.

Maybe, but Tommy was "Deaf, dumb and blind" so he doesn't know Uncle Ernie touched him. The Who have some pretty messed up songs now that I think about it.

Green Day – Brain Stew Lyrics 10 years ago
The narrator is suffering of insomnia (logically, having the song come out of the album Insomniac) and he's in a state where you're not asleep or awake, you're not even alive, you just exist and you're so tired that nothing matters, you can't even think straight. He has passed the point of suffering from being so tired and is just a mind without a body, every part of his body being in an unhealthy state "My eyes feel like they're gonna bleed, my mouth is dry, my face is numb".

He just needs some sleep and he can't get it as much as he tries to.
The instrumental part is crude and exhausted, just as the lyrics.

I love this song, and I love Green Day. And I can identify so much to this song, I can't go to sleep and it's 3 am.

He Is We – All About Us Lyrics 10 years ago
Ok, so I haven't seen the video so this is what I get from the lyrics and the audio baldly.

So there's a girl and a boy, and they love each other as in actual romantic and pure love, the cheesy kind of love that fills you with joy with having the other significant in the same room as you.

The girl feels the need to dance with him in honor to their love, and so they go on.
The boy doesn't know how to and is kind of ashamed to embarrass himself in front of her, so she takes the lead and teaches him how to.

When they both dance, they feel as the only people in the world and as if they didn't need anything else apart from their love.

Cheesy and beautiful true love!

Foxboro Hot Tubs – Stop Drop and Roll Lyrics 10 years ago
I think the song is about a teenage relationship between two "bad kids"

A boy who's "sixteen and a son of a bitch", the typical bad 50's bad boy with a leather jacket and jeans.

A girl who's "out of control, doesn't give a shit"

Both of them get into a relationship (not exactly a romantic one, but more as friends with benefits who simply enjoy have fun fun together) and the two of them go around being troublesome and not having or wanting control above their actions.

They both start getting closer and closer but never get to something cheesy or dramatic of a relationship, "Dirty mouth and the look of death, my tequila coming from your breath". And her attitude starts getting more and more attractive to him until a point where he's absolutely crazy for her "Your lips are like a cherry bomb with teeth, Losing control, break my sanity!"

The first verse of the chorus explains the simplicity of their relationship "So Baby-Doll, don't you lose your touch," and the second shows how he's getting more attached to her every second they spend together "You take it all, 'cause it's never gonna take too much".

Cobra Starship – It's Warmer in the Basement Lyrics 10 years ago
I think the song is about a man who love someone (let's say a woman) a lot, but loves her more as a possession than as a human being. He has her locked up in a basement and enjoys her misery, it gives him adrenaline and insane pleasure (Open up your eyes, I wanna watch you cry, come on, come on, the camera's on).
He also has a short and violent temper if provoked (Don't be upset now, You know I get angry too, Don't make me hurt you)

The narrator suggests he has a dark past that twisted his mind and made him stop trusting people and depend on money, which in a verse he offers the girl for sex (You know I tip good, and soon you will love me too).

On a part of the song, he offers her bread (showing she's his prisoner) in exchange for her promising she'll never make him have feelings for her and let her out, think about "Beauty and The Beast" as an example: He falls in love with her and when she asks to leave the castle he lets her because he cares about her. (You want some bread now? Just promise me you'll never make me believe you).

I don't know. It sounds really fucked up to me, but I love it anyways!
