It's a bittersweet song about a fading fairy tale. Feeling like you loved someone but after getting to know them, watching the pedestal you placed them on shrink while the image you originally had of them fades. Seeing their true colors but wishing it weren't true....
Having so much faith in who you THINK someone is, not wanting to face the reality of how they're human just like everyone else. If there are no damsels in distress, no princesses, no happy endings then just shoot me. It's hard enough to be a human being. Waiting for someone to bring light into a dark world is dangerous. A hopelessly hopeful beautiful song. |

It's about heartaches and heartbreaks, and always feeling like the asshole in the end but not wanting to live up to it.... just blaming it on the fact that you're/or always felt like "trailer trash"....which never amounts to anything anyway. Sucking up your pride: "and I guess that I miss you, and I'm sorry if I dissed you." Such an insincerely sincere apology, because Fuckkkk it hurts, but I guess I have no one to blame but myself, because I'm trash and will fuck it all up in the end anyway...always seem to. In the end, that mother fucker has your heart when no one actually should. |
