The Traveling Wilburys – Handle With Care Lyrics
| 10 years ago

lol when I was a kid I used to sign along fucked off, but I think fobbed off makes more sense.. It means "sell as genuine, sell with the intention to deceive" I am pretty sure that it makes WAY more sense. Basically he's saying he's been tricked. Fobbed off comes from watches which had Fobs. :)

yes apparently on all of these sites they either omit the bad word F*cking or they say that it was un-archived or something like that. hahahaha and yes .. it really is a f*cking dirty world, and hahaha I dont know what some of those things at the end mean exactly, but this song makes me think of all those songs about loving cars more than women .... which makes me think of Jeff Beck LMAO |

they issue with stating that is later lyrics would make even less sense, if his assistant was Jan then why did she marry Bill the Racketeer? My guess is this whole song was just a Bob Dylan joke, making fun of himself, The Boss and a few other people. :) |

handle in his pants = the slips you get for when you gamble, IE it's your money to gamble with, so that isn't true..
Personally I always thought it was about how we as humans do what needs to get done.

Pearl Jam – I'm the Ocean (feat. Neil Young) Lyrics
| 11 years ago
|
Kinda think that some of this has to do with 90s society like already mentioned. The first lines are about Kurt Kobain, (at least those lines seem sorta like his life anyways.. I was an accident, I drove way too fast couldn't stop, let the moment last
It's not the guilt, it's not from the company I keep (IE Cobain didn't blame his fame or his guilt over being famous, in fact he didn't want to be famous at all, and I think he was also referencing some of Cobain's gfs/ courtney love, saying ti wasnt her fault either, it was all on him).
2nd lines could be about OJ.. in a messed up way, or maybe it's the narrator again (this song was written by Neil Young, he just recorded MirrorBall with his friends Pearl Jam. They idolized Neil Young, and btw I think he needed their support in some ways, he took Cobain's death rather hard.. esp since he quoted Neil Young in his note)
Next set of lyrics= about Cobain again.. basically about the pressures of being famous, and looking back saying now matter what he said it doesn't matter now. (the line I can't see you, but I know what's in my way" seems similar to some of the lyrics in Something's in the Way by Nirvana ( which is about Kurt's homelessness)
the next set I have never been positive about but I sorta think it's about the 90s random violence..
Not sure what the next set references either, maybe the 1989 Earthquake in San Francisco?
Next set talks about Vietnam Vets and Vets from the First Gulf War that were left homeless and ignored while people watched and played sports and gambled.. (Neil Young has always been against war and also has helped the Homeless. Watch Keep onRocking in the Free World Video, and you can see him in action walking the streets of LA as a homeless man)
The next set is about OJ and the trial, and all the circus that happened in the mid 90s during the trial...
The last line is about Kurt Cobain, and his death, think he is describing what happened before he found out. He went to bed alone, woke up from a dream and saw the rider (guess this could be Courtney Love, or it could be Nichole or maybe someone else..
The rest is about fame .. |

Supertramp – The Logical Song Lyrics
|
it's because this song is actually somewhat about politics. At least it is for me, and It's not cause I am a liberal and they throw that term in, what it means basically is how they were fed up with what they were taught at school, in the UK. It seems to me that a lot of bands from the UK seem to write songs about the indoctrination of the schools there. I wouldn't know, I was educated in America...

It's been in plenty of other movies, shows, etc. I heard it in Sorpanos and Homicide Life on The Street, bet you pipsqueaks don't even know what Homicide life on the street was.. |

1. I have always assumed this meant that it meant that his mother was busy screwing young men.. the meetings might mean like appointments so basically she was screwing the golf instructor or whatever and paying for it with sex.
2. Fags= British Slang for Cigarettes which makes more sense than what we think of usually when we hear fags.. BTW it's a play on words, just like the derogatory term for gays, it comes from the word faggot, which is a pile of sticks to be burnt.. IE the burning a cigarette..
3. lol I always assumed it meant that the father was busy bagging the maid.,. sorta like how the mother is off banging other people...
4. Pater=Latin for father. |

actually in reality what they really mean is that SHE sees her lying eyes, she's cheating on her husband, and her lover, and herself really because she isn't getting what she wants with anyone. |

Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics
| 11 years ago
|
Ok for my two cents worth here it goes.
Kurt hated religion, and so this song is sorta sarcastically telling off christians. See they think this song is about jesus and all, but it's really not.
"Don't expect me to cry,
For all the reasons you had to die
Don't ever ask your love of me" like DUH read the lyrics. Also this song is a cover so obviously Kurt, and the rest of the band for that matter picked it to play because they liked the music. |

the short answer to this song is it's about a real rape torture that Kurt read about that happened in the Seattle area.. the reason this is why is because the guy was a sadist and burnt the crap out of one of the girls. The outrage was he did it before and was let out of prison and then did it again, one of the girls survived tho. |

well I dont know what was in his note other than the how he eluded to fading away instead of rusting, which hurt Neil Young a lot more than people think, but I always though he was saying sorry I am famous. |
