I’m in the unfortunate position where I need to start planning my funeral details. I intend to have this as my leave the world song, through cremation. Sorry to put such a downer on this tune but I feel it’s fitting throughout as I’ve continued to fight a brain tumour yet I have got myself in good places at times, not giving up and I’ve generally had my head in the sand and people constantly tell you to stay positive etc but I just carry on smiling anyway. I am that clown who doesn’t want to listen, I’m not giving up on the happy times I’ve had and on the people and family I’ve had supporting me. So, Blue Skies, that’s where I’m going. I hope I haven’t killed this song for you and I hope I get to listen to it for a long time yet! Take care x |

Ha! I grew up living opposite a girl, same class in in infants and secondary school. I would walk across the road to avoid saying ‘hello’ because I was too shy! Even now I still feel that little shy, aged 43! We are still friends within our group of friends. This just tells that story for me. |

And to add further... I don't understand how this could be about incest. Surely it is about the mother or wife who is constantly drunk and controls the house. The daggers being her heels on her shoes as she stumbles and obviously trips along. |

The cartoon mouse must be Jerry Mouse. Undetected like the kids are as they hide under the table. It's a sad song really though. I feel lucky that my childhood didn't endure such behaviour. Such a great songwriter. |
