Jason Walker – Echo Lyrics 11 years ago
This describes how I feel pretty much every day.

To me, it's clearly a song about loneliness. This person feels isolated and as if they're their only friend. 'Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright but it's never enough' suggests that they're trying to convince themselves that they're okay with living like this, when in reality they're desperately unhappy. 'Try and chase the crazy right out of my head' implies that they're possible even suffering from some form of a mental illness, and that they want somebody to come along and save them from their misery.

Beauty, gorgeous song. Jason Walker is very underrated.

Marina and the Diamonds – Living Dead Lyrics 11 years ago
Gorgeous lyrics, as always from Marina.

I associate this song with depression. It implies throughout that she's miserably waiting for life to become wonderful and to progress as a person but she's 'permanently at square one'; she's constantly miserable and nothing ever changes despite her longing for it to. 'Got bubble wrap around my heart' suggests that she's terrified of getting hurt, which stops her from truly trying to break free from her misery. She seems to be fully aware and regretful of the fact that she's wasting her life, yet the weight of her depression makes it impossible to do anything about it. I think that 'living dead' refers to her feeling as if she's floating aimlessly around, lacking any enthusiasm for life. I don't think that she actually wants to die; she wants to be happy but she's unable to do so and so death seems more appealing than 'living dead'.

Personally I associate this song with breaking away from depression and anxiety; realising that it's okay to just be happy.

Marina and the Diamonds – Guilty Lyrics 11 years ago
I don't think that this what Marina's singing about but to me, it's about someone who's you know, done bad things, because they're messed up after being abandoned by their father. I think that 'Daddy Issues' are definitely implied throughout.

It's an amazing song, possibly my favourite by her.

The Smiths – There Is a Light That Never Goes Out Lyrics 11 years ago
To me, this song is about someone that's felt isolated and depressed for so long, and finally they've broken out of their misery and into the world. They 'want to see people and want to see life'. Finally they're out there, living it up, but they're scared that the moment's going to end and so they want to die there and then, at their happiest. Such a bittersweet song.

I described that pretty badly and rambled a lot, but that's my interpretation. I absolutely adore this song. It definitely makes my all time top ten favourites.
