He feels alone because it seems like everyone is always out to get him and he has no one. I'm not sure what the rest of the song is about, but I think it's talking about society. I think the "she" is actually referring to society and what it has done to him. It planted the seeds in him to be who he is today... (when he was younger he went to a Christian school and he despised it so much and was so afraid that he became obsessed with the antichrist and in his book he explains how that led him to become the antichrist). Society has turned him into a monster.. into a "dying tree." I think it could also be referring to an ex or his mom. His mom "put the seeds" in him by giving birth, or maybe his ex broke up with him and now he's turned into a "dying tree." I think this song is about modern day music and how it's all about sex, violence, partying, etc. It's saying how it is all the same, the music never changes or has any meaning to it whatsoever. "Babble babble bitch bitch Rebel rebel party party Sex sex sex and don't forget the "violence" Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad-and-lonely Stick your stupid slogan in, Everybody sing along" I think this is giving an example of what music (probably rap, pop, hip-hop, etc.) is about. They are just "babbling" on and on, it's emotionless music. At the same time though, I see this song being about drugs or even sex. The "new shit" is the drugs. "And now it's "you know who" I got the "you know what" I stick it "you know where" You know why, you don't care." Basically, he's the 'you know who' (the drug dealer), he has the 'you know what' (the drugs), he sticks it 'you know where' (possibly a needle or something), they know that why they are taking it and they know it could be dangerous but at the time they don't care. Also, now that I'm relistening, I think this song could also be about a girl who thinks that a guy is cheating on her, so she "locks up her heart" and tries to move on. However, she realizes he wasn't cheating or really was there for her for the right reasons and she realizes he wasn't a fake all along... but now it's too late, he's already mad at her for not trusting him. If she knew that he was hers all along, this never would've happened, and now their relationship is ruined. ("Bet I'll make another mistake and think he's just another fake") This is the line that gives me that idea. She'll meet another guy that's just like him but she might make the same mistake as this time and think he's not here for the right reasons/cheating/ a fake. When I hear this song it makes me think of a guy that left her. When he first met her she was emotionally unstable but he helped her get back on her feet again. He helped her to be strong and not do anything serious (like committing suicide...) They were in a relationship and he ended it or lost contact with her. In the beginning of the song it's talking about how she lost him, and she is heartbroken. She lost her heart along with him-it's still with him. She can't sleep remembering everything (the dark) and without him she can't be strong and make it through this life. He told her to be strong when he left because she needs to live without him and his strength that always helped her has now turned to stone because he's not there anymore. She's trying to convince herself that she'll be fine and strong but she isn't so sure. I think the reference to "home" in this could also mean Heaven, so she is thinking about suicide. Another meaning could be, she was independent before on her own, she was doing fine but then a guy came along and she didn't want to fall in love with him but she ended up falling for him. The first verse talks about how she let herself fall for another guy and she is too dependent on him and she realizes she shouldn't be because she has trust issues and is afraid that when he leaves she won't be able to get on her feet again. However, the guy is helping her from being alone and he is stopping her from leaving the relationship because of his "lights" (support.) I could be wrong but that's how I see it. At the same time I think it could also be about a friend that decided she was too good to hang out with him so she left him for the "popular crowd." | The first line means that it doesn't matter if you love God (religious people often capitalize the H in "him" when they are referring to God or Jesus) or a guy (guys loving guys.) She's saying that you can still be homosexual and be religious. "You were born this way" means that homosexuals/bisexual etc. were born that way and they can't help it like some people believe. It also goes on to address other things other than homosexual/bisexual people...your religion, your beliefs, your skin color, etc. She says that no matter what people say or believe about you, just love yourself for you who are and don't try to be anyone else. We all have the same D.N.A because we are humans, she is saying don't judge people. After this song was released, I've had major respect for Gaga. This is a great song with a great meaning unlike some of the songs on the radio today, so kudos to her! | |

| I think this song is saying that she is going to travel to wherever the love of her life is. She's probably in a different time zone than he is and she is going to "change skies" to get him back. (Different times=different sky..in the morning there is a sunrise whereas in the afternoon it's blue and at night it's black/dark blue.) In the first verse she's thinking about going to meet him somewhere even though it's four thousand miles away from where she currently is. The chorus says that no matter where she is even if she is at home, she really isn't because he isn't there with her and he is home to her. I might be wrong about this song but that's how I interpreted it. It could probably also be about music and her dream to be an artist rather than a guy. | |
