Nirvana – Sappy Lyrics 12 years ago
Why has nobody commented on this song? It's a great song! Anyway, my interpretation of it is staying in a relationship with someone who doesn't treat you well.

"He'll keep you in a jar, then you'll think you're happy" He'll trap you and confine you, but you'll think you're happy because you're in "love."

"He'll give you breating holes, then you will seem happy" He'll give you a small portion of time alone, and you'll think that everything is going well.

"You're in a laundry room, Conclusion came to you" You're in a practical state of mind (for once) and you realize you're being neglected.

That's just what I get out of it, but everybody interprets things differently. Especially when it comes to Kurt Cobain.

Nirvana – Rape Me Lyrics 12 years ago
I was watching a video on youtube, and he was talking about the song meaning for this song. He said that this song was an anti-rape message. He was tired of people asking him what his songs meant but it's pointless because he made no sense. He once said melody first, lyrics second.

Nirvana – Dumb Lyrics 12 years ago
I'm actually not quite sure what this song means, I've always had a trouble analyzing Kurt's lyrics. He once said that melody comes first, then the lyrics so he proably didn't make many songs with meaning. Of course every song has a subject, but I don't think this song is about drugs (as I see a lot of people saying). Those of you who know what Kurt was like, you should know that he was one of the most sarcastic people which makes it difficult to tell when he's being serious or not.

But if I must try to interpret this song, I will say this:
I do believe it's a song about struggling to fit in. There are some drug references in this song, but that's not all it's about.

"I'm not like them, but I can pretend." Saying that I can act like someone else in order to fit it.

"The sun is gone, I have a light" Saying that there's no point in hoping anymore, but I still have hope.

"The day is done, but I'm having fun." PARTY ALL NIGHT LONG! no, i dunno really, something about being really weird and different from other people. I have no clue.

"I think I'm dumb, or maybe just happy." Low self esteem. Calling himself dumb, or maybe everybody else is living the wrong way, and he is optimistic and happy.

Like I said, I have trouble interpreting Kurt's lyrics. But the point is the melody, Kurt's voice sounds beautiful in this song, especially during the chorus with the cello (I think it's a cello anyway). Great song.

Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics 12 years ago
okay, ima gonna attempt to break this song down line for line

If you have seen the video, it does have an eerie feel to it, so i think that the repetitive line "Feel Good" means the dark stuff that people to do when they're depressed ex. drugs, alcohol

"City's breaking down on a camel's back" meaning (as i saw someone else say) that the city is overbearing, corrupt, and falling apart.

"They'll just have to go coz they don't know wack" meaning some form of authority (most likely, the government) doesn't know what they are talking about.

"So all ya fill the streets it's appealing to see And you won't get undercounted cause you're damn ass free" which is kinda mocking what the governement is saying.

"You got a new horizon it's an ephemeral style In a melancholy town where we never smile" meaning you've found something to look forward to, but it's very short lived.

"And all I want to hear is the message beep My dreams they come a kissin' cause I don't get sleep no" I'm not actually sure what this line means, but i do know "cause i don't get sleep" means he's worried about something.

This part of the song is optimism for the future.
"Windmill windmill for the land Turn forever hand in hand" we're all gonna work together.

"Take it all there on your stride It is tickling fallin' down" if you try do things on your own, you will fail.

"Love forever love is free Turn forever you and me" makes me think of the Beatles song "All you Need is Love" saying that we should love instead of hate and change for the better.

"Windmill windmill for the land Is everybody in?" Is everybody willing to work together?

"Laughing Gas, these Hazmats, Fast Cats, lining them up like ass cracks" Laughing gas=insanity Hazmats=things that endangers life Fast Cats=corrupt and dangerous people that want to kill us... the government is purposely doing things to harm us and is putting the corruption right out in the open.

"Lay these ponies at the track It's my chocolate attack" mocking the government by using a code.

"Shoot I'm stepping in hotter this year Care bear reppin' it harder this year" mocking authority, "im gonna become more powerful and rule the world"

"Watch me as I gravitate hahaha" basically saying "watch me pull these suckers in and trick them *evil laugh*"

"Gonna ghost town This Motown With your sound you're in the blink" the position of authority that they're talking about is gonna use yourself against you and gonna tear down everything that you knew and loved.

"Going to bite the dust Can't fight with us With your sound you kill the inc." basically saying that you have no chance and all you do is make it worse.

"So don't stop get it, get it Until your Cheddar's heavy And watch the way I navigate ha ha" encouragement coming from the forces of good, keep trying. (not too sure about that one though)

And the rest of the song is basically what I have said or touched on. I hope that helped.
