I interpret this song to mean yearning to just go back and relive the happy, innocent and unjaded times in our past. Not necessarily with regret for past mistakes or decisions, but simply because we enjoyed those moments. You are having problems at work, the bills are overdue, you are drifting apart from your spouse... whatever the problem is, big or small; you just want to leave them, you just want to go back to a time when you didn't have these current problems. But all you can do is wish to go back because you know you can't go back. |

This song is about taking things for granted and finally learning your lesson when it's too late. The man in the song used to have it all; a fast, fun life with a wonderful woman. Now he has lost his means of living that kind of life, be it lost his money, his mental capacity, etc. and he reminisces about the past life. He is trying to get back on his feet and thinks he will live that kind of life again. This song is about nostaligia and trying to regain one's former glory. |
