The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics | 12 years ago |
lol - reminds me of "Only the TRUE messiah would deny his divinity!" "Alright then, I AM the messiah!" "HE IS THE MESSIAH!" [/QUOTE] |
The Beatles – Blackbird Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I've seen Paul live twice, and both times, he played Blackbird, and both times, he said that it was about the civil rights movement. This would be backed up with "You were only waiting for this moment, to be free" |
Belle & Sebastian – Sleep the Clock Around Lyrics | 12 years ago |
NaCl's intepretation is pretty good, but I reckon its about depression/anxiety/alcoholism - valium is taken as an anti-anxiety pill and also as a drug for alcohol withdrawal. Also... ---------------- 'Put a face on the world, turn your back to the wall And you walk twenty yards with your head in the air' Putting a face on that makes you seem fine, when really you're just...not. '"Look at yourself, you're not much use to anyone"' Speaks for itself really... 'But it takes more than this to make sense of the day Yeah, it takes more than milk to get rid of the taste' Feeling alienated by the world and such... Just my thoughts of course, but... |
Belle & Sebastian – Fox in the Snow Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"I think in most places with average weather you only get one big snow a year, so, way to go, kid! Enjoy that snow while it lasts! Any deeper meaning is up for interpretation. " Belle and Sebastian are Scottish. I reckon that Scotland gets a little more than one big snow every year...I'm about 150 miles South-East of Glasgow, where I think they're from, and last year we had a fair bit of bad snow, so further North, and higher above sea level, there'll probably be more snow than that. |
Belle & Sebastian – Fox in the Snow Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Perhaps its about feeling like crap and not being understood... "Don't let yourself grow hungry now Don't let yourself grow cold Fox in the snow" - the narrator is asking the fox to do something it can't help, akin to asking someone not to feel a certain way about something... "Girl in the snow, where will you go To find someone that will do? To tell someone all the truth before it kills you" - hence why people don't understand. Because the character never tells anyone how they feel. "You're going up, you're going down You're going nowhere It's not as if they're paying you It's not as if it's fun" - perhaps going up and down are mood swings, and going nowhere because, well, the character feels like doing very little? The character is doing something for the sake of doing something, maybe to try and get stuff off their mind... |
