Robbie Williams – Blasphemy Lyrics 13 years ago
In the book called 'Feel' which was written by Chris Heath in 2004, and which I can highly recommend to anyone (Heath spent about 18 months living with Rob), Rob says that this song 'is about making loads of friends and realising they're all cunts.' According to this book, Blasphemy was written in about half an hour, and it may have been the last song that Rob and Guy Chambers have ever written together.

I really like the way Rob 'plays' with the words in this one ('blasphemy' / 'blast for me'). For example, the line: 'What's so great about the Great Depression?' is based on double meanings. 'Great' means something being 'huge', but it also means something being 'awesome'. 'The Great Depression' is part of the American history, but it can also mean that Rob is 'deeply depressed'. In other words, Rob might be as well asking, 'What is so amazing about being deeply depressed?' as he might be referring to the history.

Anyway, Rob really seems to be going through hard times in this one. He is disappointed by certain person (people) and doesn't understand why it has gone wrong. He knows he is not handeling the whole problem very well himself ('I can't behave'), but he really seems to blame the other person from the fact that they can't get on.

Robbie Williams – Monsoon Lyrics 13 years ago
'Lord I'm in purgatory' line says it all. This song is really like a purgatory, in which Rob confesses all his sins as he knows he can't lead this life anymore ('It's all been too much for me'). He recalls the bad things he has done in the past; the audience is for him like a priest listening to confession. However, he has no expectations that people will easily forgive him ('Im not expecting your sympathy'). That's also why he seems to be quite surprised that fans always stand by him no matter what ('What shape of insanity, keeps leading you back to me?') and he thanks them for that ('Thank you for keeping me company, you've all been so nice to me').

I must say it's one of my favorite songs; I really like how sincere it is, and I also enjoy the way it is aimed towards his fans and the audience in general. I can't really say I understand the 'Monsoon, mushroom, come soon' part though.

Take That – The Flood Lyrics 13 years ago
I think that this song is actually about Take That before 1995. They were famous ('standing on the edge of forever'), they were singing all those love songs ('shouting love at the world'), but the public didn't actually realize that they were just an object in the hands of manager(s) and that their life was fully controlled. It was uncomfortable for them, but they didn't really have guts to leave the band ('bleeding, but none of us leaving'), or even say something against the way they were treated because the managers made them believe that they would be nothing without him ('watch your mouth son or you'll find yourself floatin' home'). 'The Flood' seems to symbolize the point when all of these emotions would finally come out of them. In other words, they say that although no one from outside (i.e. their fans) knew, they had to stand those terrible conditions ('learning how to dance the rain'), and trey tried to behave the way it was expected from them ('we were holding back the flood').

However, that's only the first (negative) part of the song. Now, Take That are re-united but without those people controlling their lives ('there was more of them than us, now they'll never dance again'). It also seems that the members are finally happy that the band is heading somewhere ('there's progress now where once was none'). They are no more just one of those boy groups which is a hit in the first year and already forgotten in the second one. They are different now, they are aiming somewhere. (The official video to this song might be as well a metaphor to this; no matter if they win or lose in the competition with other pop groups now, they won't stop. Unlike other groups which only want to be the best.)

Just my own opinion of course. I am not a native English speaker, so I might have misunderstood some of the lines.
