The Raconteurs – Consoler of the Lonely Lyrics 13 years ago
Maybe it's all just about drugs?

"Haven't seen the sun in weeks" - drugs rule his life, so he isn't free to do what he wants. The sun represents happiness.

"My skin is getting pale" - the lack of happiness in his life is starting to manifest in a noticeable manner

"Haven't got a mind left to speak"
"And I'm as skinny as a rail"
"There's a constant buzzing in my ears" - the effects of drugs

"I'm bored to tears" - When people start using a drug out of addiction rather than entertainment, boredom develops.

I think the second half of the song is about why people turn to drugs...

The person looking for a confederate is the person who does drugs to rebel against something: could be something simple like a kid rebelling against parents or something much more complex.

The person looking to be more "cut-throat" might find drugs to satisfy such a calling

The person looking for a scape-goat might blame their problems on drugs, when their really just using drugs in an attempt to bear their problems more happily

Well, looking for sympathy? The man in the song can "get you something to eat" (because you're skinny from the drugs). Less metaphorically, the man in the songs can't help you, he can only provide sympathy; he is "the Consoler of the Lonely"

This is a long enough comment, and I probably should've stopped typing a while ago.

I dunno if this is a fair (or accurate) translation of the song, but it does seem to fit quite well with the lyrics. Maybe since I've taken a bit too many drugs I've just interpreted this in the way that is most applicable to me. What do you think?

The Fratellis – Chelsea Dagger Lyrics 13 years ago
"It's one for the Dagger," - Indirectly, chelsea dagger is a fault for starting the odd relationship

"another for the one you believe" - What directly led to the ending of the relationship isn't 100% anyone's fault, it's "whoever you believe"

Arctic Monkeys – From the Ritz to the Rubble Lyrics 13 years ago
I think the song is about judgement and logic.

In the first part, the bouncer pulls the group out for no reason, and then the line of people judge them without thinking why the bouncer is kicking them out.

The girl isn't really a different girl the next day, the band's just being mocking how people blow things about of proportion for no reason.

"Got too deep, but how deep is too deep" - replace "deep" with "logical"

The person who says what made sense last night doesn't make sense anymore is because this person is one of the people who are easily pressured to change their opinion because they don't use their own logic.
