'And I will be your goal' should be 'And I will be your gold', I know at one part it sounds like 'goal' but in the other part it clearly sounds like 'gold' which to me makes more sense. As for song I would simply say that he wants more than anything for this girl to have God as her rock rather than him. 'But love the one you hold And I'll be your gold To have and to hold A lover of the light' |

I believe 'sun' should be 'son' in the line "Will blow away with this new sun", the reason is because he is singing about how he was heavy with guilt and he came to Christ to have it lifted from him. This is confirmed by the lyrics "I'll kneel down" and "bow my head" later on in the song. The whole song is clearly about salvation and the more I listen to it the clearer it becomes. This isn't the only song about salvation by mumford and sons in my opinion. |
