Black Sabbath – Changes Lyrics 13 years ago
These lyrics are what Geezer Butler wrote about Bill Wards breakup with his wife. I think this song really describes Bills feelings at the time, and Ozzys sorrowfull singing makes it complete!:)

Rush – Subdivisions Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song is speaking about how teens in secondary school often feel pressured to like and do the same things as everyone else, as if they don't they wont be branded 'cool'.
This song relates to me because i'm not one of the 'cool kids', and i'm not invited to all the 'cool' parties etc. It's such a brilliant song!

Black Sabbath – War Pigs Lyrics 13 years ago
I LOVE this song!
I think that this song is talking about how polititians (leaders of countries) start the war, but are too cowardly to fight it out themselves, so they send out the poorer people.

This song is clearly about cocaine and the feeling it gives you. Ozzy says in his book that they were chin deep in the stuff, so is it any wonder that the majority of volume 4 is based around cocaine?:')

Rush – Limelight Lyrics 13 years ago
I love the line 'can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend' i think that this describes his thoughts on greeting fans as old friends, as to him, they aren't friends, they're strangers. Yes, he does appreciate the fans loyalty to the music, but obviously doesn't feel comfortable with them coming up and pretending to be a friend.
I have to say, if I was as famous as he is, I would be the same.

Rush – The Trees Lyrics 13 years ago
I think that this song symbolises judgement on what kind of class we are.
Metaphorically, the oaks symbolise people who are upperclass, and the maples symbolise people who are working/lower class. Neil peart describes the oaks as taking all the sunlight, which I think represents money, the uperclass people get more money just because they are seen as bigger and better.
He ends the song with 'and the trees are all kept equal, by hatchet, axe and saw.' this shows that, once brought down to the same level, everyone is equal, everyone should have the same rights and not be judged on how much money you earn etc.

Black Sabbath – Megalomania Lyrics 13 years ago
This song... Wow, the lyrics are so deep. I think that the verses 'Feel it slipping away, slipping in tomorrow...' is describing the feeling of the loss of sanity that many megalomaniacs would feel. Perhaps they feel as though their sanity/happiness is waiting for them in 'tomorrow' and they simply have to live through today to reach tomorrow, but to find that their sanity hasvyet again moved onto the next day, meaning another day trapped in the mind of a megalomaniac?
That is my personal view on the amazing lyrics of geezer butler! :)
