@[gutterbutt:50173] This is basically what I thought the song was about. Finding a self to know and accept and be with, outside of the effort and pain of trying to fit and fill other peoples expectations. I also think there's an idea of trying to connect on a deeper level with people, and the line 'what's the point in wasting time on people you will never know' is an example. It's a great lyric because it can be interpreted multiple ways, but yeah this song is hitting me a lot right now. |

Firstly I love how this almost sounds like a karaoke song, with the tempo etc
I guess hanging for our "crimes" makes sense, or answering up to our flaws and weaknesses that we all share. I also kind of thought it was, we'll all die and that is something we'll eventually all share together. |

Well I just had an epiphany about this song:
'Right's for gays, oh yeah' sounds slightly sarcastic, like something we've been preaching about for a while now, but they still don't have equal rights..'Tie 'em to a fence post' self explanatory analogy or literal depending on what part of town/decade you're from..'So you can take, take 'em to the bank' you still demand they pay taxes/act as an 'equal' part of society, but you refuse them the right to marry. I may have read to far into this. thank you marijuana |

I always found this song to be somewhat sincere. I agree more with the ideas of Wonder Ned - It seems to me like a rock bottom situation. Jesus, where the fuck do I go from here, I've spent my life rejecting you and currently I need some guidance. I'm very likely projecting, but I certainly feel like this song represents that for me. Almost like a last resort request, and very profoundly so. Aren't we all trying to find our 'proper' fucking place. Not a conventionally proper place, but more the idea of having a 'right' place to go to, a place were we belong. There I said it, in a borderline condescending and obvious way so sue me you fucking bastards. |
