Purity Ring – Fineshrine Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I believe this song is about loving someone and giving them a permanent place in your heart even though you know there will be pain because they are or will leave. Perhaps the lover is dying, or they know the relationship is temporary. -- Love and letting someone into your heart -- get a little closer, let fold cut open my sternum, and pull my little ribs around you the lungs of me be crowns over you -- Pain, because their presence is temporary and knowing they will leave -- I'll put the South pockets gladly Over the rocky cliffs that you leap To peer over and not forget what feet are Splitting threads of thunder over me -- But still giving the lover a permanent place in their heart -- You make a fine shrine in me You build a fine shrine in me It is a beautiful, moving song describing quite vicerally how much of a sacrifice it is to love someone. |
Glasser – Apply Lyrics | 12 years ago |
For some reason it didn't post my interpretation comments. I'll try again... I identify with this song as an introvert. In general we are pretty slow to trust and open up ... If the walls were too thin, You would break in, mmm, If the walls were too thin, You would break right in * She is careful about who she lets into her heart and private life. Morning Morning * But she has met someone great. I imagine it to be a potential new love. Out in the thunder, opens my eyes wide, There is something in my mind, keeps me up at night, * She is having an internal struggle. Can she trust him? Is it worth the risk? ooh when the window lets in hot whips of light before I feel it's time, to control my mind. * She lets him in a little, but he asks her for more love than she is ready to give. It overwhelms her. |

To me this song is about reincarnation, and George strategically used the word "Hallelujah" to get past the conservative Christian radars. Can you imagine a pop hit today about enlightenment and reincarnation?? Beautiful song. |
Radiohead – There There. (The Boney King of Nowhere.) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
To me, this song is about trying to love someone who has depression or some other mental illness. In pitch dark I go walking in your landscape Broken branches trip me as I speak // I trying to understand you, but it is a constant struggle. // I am trying to help you, but I never find the right thing to say. Just because you feel it doesn't mean it's there // Just because you feel sadness doesn't mean the pain is real. There's always a siren Singing you to shipwreck // Even when you get out of your depression, you fall right back in. Don't reach out, don't reach out // Maybe I should leave you alone. // Or...you never ask me for help. Steer away from these rocks We'd be a walking disaster // Do not fall back into depression. It will hurt our relationship. There's someone on your shoulder // You are depressed. There there! // It will be okay! Why so green and lonely? // Why are you sad? Heaven sent you to me // I will make you feel better. We are accidents Waiting, waiting to happen // I will make you feel better. |
