Massive Attack – Paradise Circus Lyrics 11 years ago
And adding onto the "she will love you like a fly will never love you again" flies only really go to what they are attracted to. A fly doesn't hold feelings, it goes off of desire/ what it needs. In this case the girl is like a fly she only is after what she wants for a short period of time. She may not really have any feelings for him , therefore she will never love him again once they've used each other up and gotten what they wanted from the other, she'll be gone.

Massive Attack – Paradise Circus Lyrics 11 years ago
The narrator is tempted by a man she knows is wrong for her. She puts that aside, and gives into his lure. His magnetic force. She gives into lust, "we like it when we're spinning in his grin" Lust is one of the seven deadly sins, though love is not. Maybe in her situation she's confusing Love and Lust as the same thing, because she's overwhelmed by these emotions. She isn't proud of what she's doing, having sex with him, being used, using him, allowing herself to forget about her morals/values "rolling over when we're uncomfortable", or giving into her wants because it's easier . But even though this may be, I think deeply she yearns for it, she craves off his attention and feel. So she doesn't quite care that she's throwing herself away. She just wants to be wanted by him, that's all that matters to her. "Love is like a sin, for the ones that feel it the most" she feels it more than he does. He doesn't allow there to be feelings and emotions , while she does.

Damien Rice – Delicate Lyrics 12 years ago
Every time I listen to it, I think of a friends with benefits relationship. Why did you say "hallelujah" in other words why did you say you were happy and wanted to be together, when really you don't. Their relationship has always been secretive, people may know about it, but not the underlying intensity of it. He's gotten so caught up with the idea of the relationship becoming more than this meaningless physical inquary, that he doesn't see that there really isn't anything to it, or at least to the other person. It's almost like an unrequited love. The more they do things together, like kiss and make love the more involved he gets, but she just goes along with it; borrowing words that he wants to hear. In the end she may not want to hurt him but she just doesn't know how to break it off, that could be why she keeps "singing with him"

Damien Rice – Rootless Tree Lyrics 12 years ago
so it reminds me of the type of relationship I had with this guy. I was completely and utterly infatuated with this guy, but he never felt the same way about me. he always went for my best friends, while still leading me on to believe anything would ever come between us. he moved away and it's been 5 years since we've last talked or seen eachother, but now he moved back. since he's been back he's tried to ask me out and told me that he wanted to be with me and it was a mistake what he had done, but I just couldn't fall for it.
all the things he did to me made me feel horrible, i felt like i could never amount to anything. that relationship was a rootless tree, it could never grow/can never grow. everytime damien says fuck you, i can feel the emotions pouring out. my favorite line though is "well if you hate me, hate me, hate me then hate me so good that you can let me out. " I just wish I could be let out of agonizing hell when he's around. when he continuously says let me out and it gets louder it's like him pleading for this girl to get out of his mind and under this trance that she's put him. that although he may still love her, he needs to get out of it before it kills him.

Stars – Winter Bones Lyrics 13 years ago
(1st verse)
I imagine this girl in her room, watching the snow fall. The mood is very haunting. She's thinking about the person she's in love with but he doesn't necessarily know it, or possibly doesn't feel the same way.
(when your awake your alone) is pretty much what it means.
(Chorus)
She jumps in her car, while the snow falls harder, it begins to worsen. She calls him because she desperately wants to she him (Can I come to your house?). (Winter lives in my bones), refers to how lonely and empty she feels. She shows up at his door steps, he opens the door, she's crying and he takes her in his arms.
(2nd verse) Basically he's saying have you gone mad, driving out here in this weather. What's wrong? He wants to know what her motives are, she wants to tell him but can't say her true feelings, she wants to know his and believe that they are the same. ( I want to believe in anything)

(It's all i've known) is referring to the emptiness she's felt.

Allison Weiss – The End Lyrics 14 years ago
Definately can relate.

Basically she's just explaining to the guy how much of
an impact he had on her life, and that although they aren't together
or maybe never were she still doesn't mind calling him her friend.
He left her, but she forgives him and just wishes everything could be resolved,
by saying let's just be friends.

Stars – One More Night Lyrics 14 years ago
Personally I always thought this song was after Your Ex-Lover is Dead, because I think of it this way. . .in your ex-lover is dead its like the former lovers bump into eachother randomly
with their new lovers, whether it be in the city at a restaurant whatever. And then the guy doesn't remember her and says "yes I think we've met before." then they capture a taxi with eachother and their new love but the whole time the guy is still trying to remember. They part ways and then he remembers that last night they had together and how that was their last parting and how wonderfully bittersweet it was. He couldn't remember her because he tried to block her out of his memory from that last painful moment they spent together. Sex.
