Death Cab for Cutie – Transatlanticism Lyrics 11 years ago
To me this song isn’t about a long distance relationship at all but rather a person who is in love with someone who doesn’t feel the same way. The beginning of the song is describing the way he felt when he realized he was in love with her. The line “making islands where no islands should go, oh no.” is saying to me that he knows she doesn’t feel the same way but he is using islands as a metaphor for hope. The repeated line “I need you so much closer” means to me that he wants their relationship to be closer, like how you can be sitting right next to a person and still feel so far away because you want your relationship to be so much more. And then “so come on” he is pleading to her, come on. Lets do this.

i love the line "And I don't know about you. Tell me something I'm supposed to do." Their lyrics are so descriptive.

Tokyo Police Club – Bambi Lyrics 13 years ago
Their lyrics can have so many different meanings but for me this song is trying to explain an addiction. How life can feel boring or turn into black and white. But your addiction is a killer with a colored kite in a black and white world.

We Were Promised Jetpacks – It's Thunder and It's Lightning Lyrics 14 years ago
It definitely is "Waiting for my brain to storm" because then he leads to the metaphor of its thunder and its lightning and its all things too frighting referring to his thoughts rather than a literal storm, and follows it with i could hardly see outside as he cant get out of his own mind. at least thats how i interpret it.
