The White Stripes – Little Cream Soda Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"Oh Well" I think it is about people seeing the world around them and being apathetic to the issues. They see but don't care. Love tha riff |
The Raconteurs – Carolina Drama Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Just Listened to the Pickens County Bandits It kinda sounds like Jack White |

I love the momentum of this song. i think it is about loving something that is bad for ya, but not a person. those who suggest it is aboiut his relationship with music i think are on the money |
TV on the Radio – Wolf Like Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is musical perfection Love it at first i thought it was one of the weaker songs on the album but it has grown on me and now one of my favs of all-time |
Okkervil River – The President's Dead Lyrics | 14 years ago |
it isn't a sad song even though it is about the death of Kennedy and loss of innocence. It is about nostalgia and about being happy with life and having the whole of your life in front of ya. i don't think it is sarcastic at all. He is happy and content and news of the President's death has shocked him into taking notice of what he has and cherishing it |
Okkervil River – The War Criminal Rises and Speaks Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love this song. It packs a huge emotional punch. I think the meaning is literal. I love how he sings "Now he’s rising and not denying" |
Okkervil River – Our Life Is Not a Movie or Maybe Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i think it is about someone living thier life as if is scripted. I love Okkervil River and i think this is thier best song.I love it. |
Eskimo Joe – Foreign Land Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I thought it was about aussies dying in Afghanistan but i like the ledger interpretation |
The Stooges – No Fun Lyrics | 14 years ago |
God i love Iggy. This song is so stupid and yet the stooges were capable o making it a brillant and iconic song. They were all geniuses and ahead og thier time. "Well, Come On" |
The Stooges – Search and Destroy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
a friend of mine told me that "My Generation" by the Who was the first punk song. I told him that i disagreed (it is not punk) and that i believed that the Stooges were the first Punk band. He said that he never heard of the Stooges. I haven't spoken to him since. I can't be friends with someone who doesn't love The Stooges. |
The Stooges – I Wanna Be Your Dog Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Who cares what the lyrics are about. It is all about the simplest yet greatest riff of all-time. |
Foo Fighters – Darling Nikki (Prince cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is agreat cover. Apparently Prince wasn't impressed with the Foos covering this song. However Prince covered Best of You at the Superbowl |
Foo Fighters – Baker Street (Gerry Rafferty cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Not a great cover...sorry guys. |
Foo Fighters – Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Kaki King plays on this song. She is awesome. The best guitarist in the world I saw her live several years ago. She is awe-inspiring. However, her stage banter makes her seem conceited. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Feel Good Hit Of The Summer Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is the song that got me into QOTSA all those years ago. I was never into Kyuss but discovered them since discovering QOTSA. Although this isn't a great song, i will always love it because it made me discover these great bands. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Little Sister Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It is incestual. i don't think it's his friends little sister but his sister |
Queens of the Stone Age – Skin On Skin Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love the way he sings this song. He sounds perverted. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Burn The Witch Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think it is about the mob mentality and people following something just because others do. I agree that it is great live. Love the bluesy riff |
Queens of the Stone Age – Everybody Knows That You Are Insane Lyrics | 14 years ago |
as an insomniac, i was up late one night when i saw a video clip for this song. It involved a naked asian man. it was hilarious. I can't find it on youtube. Has anyone else seen it or am i just insane. (maybe it is for another QOTSA song and i'm confused...Suggestions????) |
The Raconteurs – Level Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The live version is far superior to the album version |
The Raconteurs – Rich Kid Blues Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Terry Reid has one of the greatest voices of all-time. It would have been a mistake for Jack and Brendan to try and emulate Terry. I think they do a great job. I do not however think that the song works on the album. It could have made an awesome B-side for die-hard fans. Instead i think it stops the momentum of a marvelous record. |
The Raconteurs – Floating (Jape cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I have found a couple clips on Youtube but have never seen them perform the whole song. I think they perform it as a excuse for a face melting Jack White guitar solo. |
The Raconteurs – Carolina Drama Lyrics | 14 years ago |
beautiful and purposely obscure. He says that he will tell us a tale but the tale is open ended we know less at the end than we knew at the beginning. I think Jack was just having fun pretending to be Dylan. I also think think that Jack has never been better lyrically. This is beautiul. |
The Raconteurs – Attention Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Am i the only one who thinks this sounds like Soundgarden. i don't think it belongs on the album. it isn't a bad song. it just seems like the odd man out. |
The Dead Weather – 3 Birds Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Would anyone have shed a tear if this was left off the album. I can't stand it. |
Bob Dylan – New Pony Lyrics | 14 years ago |
the dead weather do a great cover of this song. |
The Dead Weather – New Pony Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The original Dylan version is awful. i love Dylan but it was like he didn''t try. Jack loved the lyrics and thought it would be good from a female perspective. He was right. Another example of Jack making a cover better than the original. |
The Dead Weather – You Just Can't Win Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Van Morrison Cover |
The Dead Weather – Will There Be Enough Water? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
it was apparently part of a long 20 minute jam with made up lyrics. they took 6 minutes and put it on the album. Alison was surprised because she couldn't remember recording the song. i don't think the lyrics are particularly meaningful. Sexy as hell when performed live though. |
The Dead Weather – I Cut Like a Buffalo Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i never heard of the saying of i cut like a buffalo before if it means to make a woman bleed during sex then i am a little disturbed. i thought it just an agressive warning- leave me alone or i cut ya. |
The Dead Weather – Are Friends Electric? (Gary Numan cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i heard it don't like it I prefer their covers of pentagram and dylan and van morrison and west coast... This seems half-arsed |
The Dead Weather – So Far from Your Weapon Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think this is the best song on the album. Gotta love Alison. The lyrics look good to me. I don't know what the lyrics mean but it sounds like it has sexual undertones. |
The Dead Weather – Treat Me Like Your Mother Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Its about a relationship The gal wants respect the guy wants her to stop bitching |
Pentagram – Forever My Queen Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i discovered this song because of the Dead Weather cover. I am so happy. This song is amazing and am now a Pentagram fan. Recently bought some of their stuff online. |
Arctic Monkeys – Red Right Hand (Nick Cave cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I like this cover. Not as haunting or powerful as the original but they weren't attempting to. Great cover of a great songg |
The Dandy Warhols – Cool As Kim Deal Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i am not a huge fan of the Dandy Warhols but i love Kim Deal so i love this song. No one is as cool as Kim Deal |
The Beatles – Golden Slumbers Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The Golden Slumber Medley is perfection. It is one Song. Not three individual songs. |
The Beatles – The End Lyrics | 14 years ago |
this songs dosen't stand alone. As part of the Golden Slumbers Medley it is perhaps part of the greatest musical accomplishment of all-time. The Golden Slumbers Medley is proof that four flawed individuals can unite to create perfection. |
The White Stripes – Who's a Big Baby? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It is definately Meg singing but i still think it is about renee. |
The White Stripes – You've Got Her In Your Pocket Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is apparently Meg;s favourite song. If it was about her i don't think she would like it. It is one of my fav's as well |
The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Meg White: "Jack basically wrote (Seven Nation Army) around the idea of this guy who comes into town and all his friends are gossiping about him. It gets so bad, he wants to leave town and then he decides not to." Jack did eventually leave Detroit |
The White Stripes – St. Ides of March Lyrics | 14 years ago |
a cover of the Soledad Brothers. Jack was room-mates with the guitarist and is now business partners with the drummer. I love Jack's voice in this song. |
The White Stripes – Shelter Of Your Arms Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is far superior the Greenhornes. I like the original version but the stripes cover has so much atmosphere and emotion. This is one of thier best b-sides. |
The White Stripes – Party Of Special Things To Do Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is his best Captain Beefheart cover. I love it. Jack apparently heard it for the first time in the film "blue Collar" It is about workers at a Detroit car factory. I have no idea what the song is about. i agree with the Alice in Wonderland vibe. |
The White Stripes – Look Me Over Closely Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is Marlene Dietrich's signature tune. It is another example of Jack taking a song famously sung by a women and making it his own. This is a great cover. |
The White Stripes – It's My Fault for Being Famous Lyrics | 14 years ago |
am i the only one who doesn't like Jack complaining about being famous? Sure their are good reasons to complain but why put it in song. I think "Cash grab" and "honey" are far superior B-sides |
The White Stripes – I'm Slowly Turning into you Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think it is about a relationship...the two turning into one. The song is based on an idea Michael Gondry had in which a large number of people would stand in a line starting with Jack and ending with Meg. Each person would look a little less like Jack and a little more like Meg. I know i haven't explained the concept well but i think it would have been amazing. I have never heard why it was not filmed. |
