Escape the Fate – Not Good Enough for Truth In Cliché Lyrics 14 years ago
Here is my go at the song. I know that some parts have already been discussed, but it makes it easiest to start from scratch. First, I think that Juliet is, indeed, referencing Romeo and Juliet. I think that the writer is comparing the idealized love that Shakespeare wrote about to his love, that was once like Romeo and Juliet's, but has become twisted.

Hurtful words,
from my enemies of the last five years.
-I think this part is talking about how he and his ex lover (for whatever reason) have been lashing out at each other for five years.
What's it like to die alone?
-I think that this is foreshadowing to what he is planing
How does it feel when tears freeze,
when you cry?
The blood in your veins is twenty below.
-He is upset by how much pain she has caused him. This could also be another reference to Romeo and Juliet, since the potion had caused Juliet to feel cold to the touch. Juliet had taken the potion out of love. He could be twisting it again showing his anger at how their love turned out.
Sitting in this room playing Russian Roulette.
-Russian Roulette is a (deadly) turn based game that gets more dangerous the longer it goes (and the lower the odds get). He and his ex have been lashing out at each other and have been getting increasingly more vicious.
Finger on the trigger to my dear Juliet.
-He is now taking his turn in their 'game'.
Out from the window see her backdrop silhouette.
-This is actually the reality in the song (the rest being poetic). He is outside watching for her.
This blood on my hands is something I cannot forget. (x2)
Something I cannot forget.
-This is actually a bit out of place, giving the impression that the writer is reliving what he has done in his head and has gone a bit crazy, since he isn't thinking linearly. It seems to belong after the next verse.
So for now,
take this down a notch.
Crash my car through your window.
-This is a continuation of the reality in the song, he takes the attacks on each other to this level. He is tired of the pain she is causing, because they can't move on, and is trying to end it, by driving through the front of her house...
Make sure you're still alive,
just in time to kill you.
-...and killing her. Hence the blood on his hands from before.
I can't take this, take any more.
I cannot feel what you've done to me.
-This is showing the emotions that have caused the character to kill his ex. Since it is from outside of the story. The war that he was having with his ex caused him to become emotionally unstable enough to kill her. The jumping from the narrative to his emotional reactions reflects his instability.

I think it's interesting how the writer plays on the idea of Romeo and Juliet's idealized love. They are willing to risk everything for each other just to be together. And ,when they can't, they commit suicide so that they can be together in death. The 'lovers' in the song had to have been very in love in order to have that much hate after, since it seems to me to be proportional. Enough love to kill themselves would equate to enough hate to kill each other.

Rammstein – Amerika Lyrics 14 years ago
Although this song in itself is against the spread of American culture to other countries, I don't think it should be taken too personally by Americans themselves and I don't think people should assume the song is bashing Americans or their culture. Every country has it's own culture, but a lot of people within the culture are interested with foreign cultures as well. Everybody probably has a friend who is (or are themselves) very interested in Japanese, Russian, German, or any other culture to the point that they are obsessed. Every country has that.
The problem this song brings up is that America is a very strong nation politically and economically, so their products and culture ends up being the most accessible foreign culture in other countries and a lot of the youth emulate the American culture to the point of rejecting their own. This in itself is bad for nationalism and social structures within the countries. It also causes gaps in societies and breaks down the group solidarity, since the national image of a country fades away. I think this song is more of a warning to the people within the countries to remember their culture and strive to keep their national image to keep their country independent and strong, rather than telling Americans how horrible they are either individually or en masse. It really is up to the individual if they will buy into American culture or not.
Although, speaking on a National level when it does come to war... it would be nice if America would quit threatening economic disasters to countries who don't want to join them in their battles. Seriously, the connection with the missile defence system and Canadian cattle being banned is still very suspicious. Especially since the mad cow here was from America.

Deichkind – Luftbahn Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this is such a beautiful song. It just makes me so relaxed. Since there is no English translation done for this yet, I figured I'd give it a go. German is not my first language so please forgive any mistakes you may feel I have made. Also, because of language differences, I did include a couple of looser translations that I felt had a closer idea to the meaning in German. Beside those I did include a closer translation as well.

We're riding with the air train through the night
The moon shines only for us
We have coped with it (possibly: accomplished it)
And all of the problems in the world
Lie in the distance for us
We're riding with the air train through the night
Where the star filled sky smiles on us (where the starry sky laughs for us)

From my shoulders
Falls the entire burden
You will feel it never again
The gravity

And should it really happen (pass)
That we lose ourselves in the Universe
Then I will burn for you
So that you never perish in the cold

[refrain]

Weightless, we feel weightless
Weightless, we feel weightless

You had big doubts (your doubts were large)
Nobody was interested
You feel like it's slowly becoming easier
The worst is now behind you
You are still dazed
We will soon arrive
Now you don't need to cry anymore
Because I have taken you by the hand
Sometimes you (one) has to get out
Because the world is too small
Do you want the endlessness?
Then let yourself rise and fall (fall and rise) with it
I'll show you true love
And how good it feels to clench your fists (how good it is to clench the fists)
We'll fly from darkness to sunlight
Until we turn to dust

[refrain]

Weightless, we feel weightless
Weightless, we feel weightless

[refrain]

Weightless, we feel weightless
Weightless, we feel weightless
